Comments about Osprey Poco Plus Child Carrier:
We've had a Dueter since our little one was able to fit inside. He was getting to a point where the strapping/padding on the Dueter couldn't stand up to the 28-30 lbs of our little one. That is still within the scope of the rating on the bag, so I figured I'd look around. To my surprise Osprey has finally joined the kid carrier group, and doesn't disappoint. The pouch under the kid seat is far roomier. The locking kickstand coming standard is a huge boost when loading a squirmy kid. What sold me and my little one was the over the shoulder straps. They don't sit like a standard car-seat straps, they come right over top and clip in behind some padding on the back of the bag. And while the stirrups may look a bit odd to begin with, you realize your kid can now support themselves a bit more off your hips, than kicking you in the backside for miles on end. Overall, a massive upgrade for me and my little one and much more enjoyable experience the whole way around.

Comments about Osprey Poco Plus Child Carrier:
My wife and I had been looking at child carriers for a while. My wife had used a few different soft carriers, but our one year old was beginning to outgrow them. My initial interest was in the Deuter as we had tried the Kelty carriers for our triplets (now 3.5) and didn't care for the fit. In our local store we tried both the Deuter KCII and the Osprey Poco Plus (they Poco Premiums additional features of a child's daypack and diaper pad weren't enough for the price difference). The difference was night and day, the Poco plus puts my child in a more natural position (flexed at the hip) than the Deuter, and controls his weight better. Plus, at 5'2" the Osprey fit my wife better.
We have now taken the pack on 2 hikes: Seven Bridges trail (4 miles out and back ~ 1500 feet elevation gain over intermediate terrain) and Mt. Cutler (2 miles out and back ~ 500 feet elevation gain over easy to intermediate terrain). The pack excelled. There is plenty of storage for a day hike with the family, and the ability to use a 3L Hydration pack is great. The pack was by far easier to adjust than the Deuter in the store. On the trail, my son could go from the car carrier to the Poco Plus and fully adjusted in under a minute (30 seconds if you rush). No problems with rubs or pressure points with this pack.
All in all, spendy, but highly worth the cost of entry.

Comments about Osprey Poco Plus Child Carrier:
So glad we got the Osprey! We initially bought the Sherpani pack from REI online. Though well constructed, it kept pulling back on our shoulders and was pretty uncomfortable – plus when our boy fell asleep in the pack his face would rest on all kinds of buckles and straps and he'd end up with indents and red marks on his face.
So we went to our local REI and exchanged it for the Osprey Plus. What a difference!! This pack is awesome. I've only been backpacking once, so I expected to be really sore afterward, but it was so comfortable I was able to walk miles and felt perfect afterward (FYI, our boy is currently 21 pounds). And it's so nice and padded on top that our boy was perfectly happy asleep in it for at least an hour. Storage is excellent, and it's all really well made. And we're tall folks (both 6'3") and it fit us with length to spare! Wow, I'm in love with this pack.

Comments about Osprey Poco Plus Child Carrier:
I originally bought the Dueter KCIII and loved it, but they tried to upgrade the locking mechanism for the stand which I saw as the only potential weakness. Sure enough it would no longer stay in place and I returned it.
My timing couldn't have been any better because that is when Osprey released the Poco series. This is one of the best designed carriers on the market. The entire pack is well ventilated for you and your baby with mesh panels. The rain/sun shade stores in the pack and the pack itself collapses down for easy transport. Outstanding quality and detail which you'd expect from Osprey.

Comments about Osprey Poco Plus Child Carrier:
Use this when we go to the zoo, hiking, or just to the mall. My son fits perfectly and it sits very comfortably on me. He's too big for the Baby Bjorn, causing back pain, but the Osprey keeps him safe and secure while I get to be hands-free.

Comments about Osprey Poco Plus Child Carrier:
Bought it while on leave because my son is growing like a weed and he already exceeded the weight limit on his first carrier and we quickly put it to the test. We traveled a cumulative 36 hours of travel time from Portland to Italy and still being put through the ringer on a daily basis. I am usually pretty rough with my things and this carrier has impressed me with it's durability, storage capabilities, comfort, ease of use and light weight. I should have bought this carrier to begin with!!! I'm recommending this carrier to all my friends with kids.

This backpack carrier is wonderful! Easily adjustable for both my husband and I. Our 15 month old girl is super comfortable in it and loves going on hikes. Love the sun shade! Definitely a wise investment!

Comments about Osprey Poco Plus Child Carrier:
We had a chance to try this pack hiking in Red Rocks Canyon for 2 days. We are 1st time parents with a 6 month old baby and this was our first hiking experience with him. Pack is very stable and well built. We are sure that it will last a very long time and will likely make other babies and their parents happy after our little one becomes too old for it. Adjusting the pack to ones body is really easy. Built in shade was great. Our little one did not mind being inside the pack at all. He even liked to be in an almost standing position. Drool pad was definitely his favorite. Well padded waist and shoulder straps were my favorite along with the hydration sleeve. There was plenty of space for a days worth of baby care, comfort and clothing products as well as mine. We did some easy to moderate hikes and pack felt really really good. He have never tried any other carriers, so we can't compare it to any others, but you will not be disappointed if you choose to get this one. The only minor issue we had was not having a mirror. It is an easy problem to solve and should not deter you from choosing this pack. We are looking forward to our new adventures...
