Comments about Merrell Dash Glove Road-Running Shoes - Women's:
This pair of shoes are wonderfully comfortable. They are so light it feels like I'm wearing nothing. I understand they're designed to be worn without socks but so far I've worn five finger or low cut socks with them. The first time I wore them for a long period with a lot of walking I felt a tender spot on the bottom of one foot when I took them off. That was one and only as I wear them at least four times a week.

Comments about Merrell Dash Glove Road-Running Shoes - Women's:
Love these shoes! They were super comfortable out of the box. Spacious toe box, good arch support. Very flexible, and thin soled so you can feel the ground underneath your feet. I use them mostly for walking (maybe they look a little bit too athletic for some, but I think they're fine with jeans for everyday wear) and occasional jogging or sprinting. Excellent for travel since they're so lightweight and can easily be squashed up in a bag. Just be careful on rainy days since they're not waterproof, but they are extremely breathable.
Sizing seems accurate; at least, I always wear an 8.5 from Merrell and these were no exception.
These are my first barefoot shoes, so I can't compare to Vibrams or anything else, but after trying these, there's no way I'm stuffing my feet into my clunky old running shoes. I'm a barefoot convert.

Comments about Merrell Dash Glove Road-Running Shoes - Women's:
I bought these shoes days before a trip to Japan where I did tons of walking. Without breaking them in, I had no problems. I was really hesitant about buying these since I've never owned a shoe that was so lightweight. I find them to be very comfortable and they also look great. I use these for walking and running on the treadmill now and I'm sure I'll use them a lot more in the warmer months.

Comments about Merrell Dash Glove Road-Running Shoes - Women's:
I read about a study that showed how impact on knees is higher when running with a heel first strike (like in standard running shoes) versus a mid-foot strike (like in these shoes and "barefoot" running). This intrigued me, since I stopped running due to knee issues. I already had a pair of Merrell mary jane glove shoes (for Salsa class!), and when a friend was in town she borrowed my cross trainers so I used the Merrells on a short run. OMG. It was amazing.
After that, I opted to give these a try, and went with the Dash over the more minimal options since I might have to run on pavement once a week (the rest of the time is on nice soft trail).
Downside: If it is raining, your feet will get wet. If there are leaves on the ground that are wet, your feet will also get wet! These are water resistant for about 10 minutes. But, they also dry super fast, and you can toss them in the washing machine. Merrell does make a "winter" version that REI does not carry, and they have more water resistance for those of you that dislike wet feet.
I LOVE them. I started my c25k training with these, and after my first "run" my feet were warm and felt... happy. Which is weird. Usually they are just feet, or they hurt. Having happy feet was a strange thing! I'm now on week 6 in training, and my feet are still happy. I wear these to work, and I do use socks with them even though you don't need to. Since I'm just in between an 8 and 8.5 in this shoe, the socks are fine on my feet. I'm thinking about trying them on a hiking trail with a day pack to see if I can get by without heavy hiking boots.
There is another down side. My hiking shoes are no longer comfortable after wearing these. My toes are so happy to spread out and wiggle that putting on the shoes makes them sad. Again, weird feeling to experience "sad" feet.
NOTE: You do have to work into them slowly if you don't walk about barefoot or in shoes with very little support, and you HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR GAIT! If you try to run in these with your heels striking first, you will not like them. So please, pay attention to Merrell's instructions on using these shoes! If you are a long distance runner, don't expect to put these on and go your normal distance immediately. Your feet aren't used to it - the ligaments and muscles in your feet need to get used to the flexibility and build strength.

Comments about Merrell Dash Glove Road-Running Shoes - Women's:
I purchased these shoes before a 2-week trip to Vietnam, and didn't have time to break them in. I wore them for DAYS straight walking everywhere, and they were SO comfortable. I normally get lower back pain when walking around all day, but this was the first time my legs got tired before my feet and back. I haven't worn them trail running yet, but once it gets less muddy I will be trying them out!

Comments about Merrell Dash Glove Road-Running Shoes - Women's:
I am a cyclist as well as a runner and I wanted a minimalist shoe for that would work on the road and the bike. Too much to ask some might say. Enter the Merrell Dash Glove. Low profile enough to really feel connected to the earth while I run with enough structure to hold up on the mountain bike. The foot splay is excellent, they run true to size, and people mention they are cute (which never happened in my 5 fingers). These have quickly become my go-to shoes. When these wear out I will be replacing them with the exact same thing.

I mainly use these shoes for drumming (and occasionally casual wear with jeans). They are low profile, so you can really feel the bass drum pedal.

I love these shoes! I wore them write out of the box without having any fit issues and have been wearing them ever since. I only have positive things to say about them, and so does everyone who notices me wearing them. I have a feeling I won't want any other shoe!
