I love the comfort and look of these running shoes. They're perfect for pavement and smooth flat trails, but be careful on rough terrain. I had a small sharp rock enter the bottom of the heel, where the sole material is soft, and right into my foot. Merrell was very responsive and replaced the shoes immediately. I also have a problem with the poor traction. They slip easily on damp rocks or tree roots, which has resulted in a twisted ankle a couple of times. I have finally given up running with the Bare Access Arc on trails.

Normally I only wear Five Fingers but I wanted something that I could wear with normal socks. I decided to give these a try after trying most other "barefoot" shoes with no luck. These won me over on the first walk through the store. After wearing nothing but Five Fingers for 3 years straight my toes cannot stand to be squished together at all, which was the problem with most other barefoot shoes. These have a nice wide toe box and are super light. If I wear them with a pair of wool socks they keep my feet dry and warm which is a plus too. I just love them!

I needed a lightweight shoe to take to Europe for 14 days of walking on concrete and cobblestone. These shoes were perfect. They are so lightweight I could barely feel I had shoes on. Arch support was good and I could put an orthotic in the foot that give me trouble, but didn't need to.

I would buy more pairs if they came in other colors.

I normally wear shoe size 7.5 to 8. I bought these shoes in 8.5. I could have bought them in size 8 but bought an 8.5 so I could wear socks with them, even thou they were similar to my Merrill's Pace which I don't wear socks with.

Love Merrill's lightweight shoes!!

Bought these for a trip to New Orleans this spring. Wore them for the first time on a 7-8 mile walk--no blisters, rubs or other problems. I like them so much I took my 84-year-old Mom to get some. She wore them out of the store and I think she's worn them every day since. Her balance seems better; I believe this is due to the wide toe box and the soles which allow her to feel the ground when she walks. 5 stars from both of us for great walking shoes!
