CR1 carbon frame is oriented toward performance as well as comfort, combining low weight, stiffness and a more relaxed geometry for long days in the saddle

To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly. Comments about Scott CR1 Elite Compact Bike - 2012:

After riding for 15 years on the same mountain bike, I spent more time on the road than off. So it was time to get a quality road bike. I had my eye on the Scott CR1 frame for a while, and tested a few others first. Then I came in and rode the CR1 Elite. The instant I sat on the bike, it was a good fit.

The gear change with hardly any noise. The SRAM Rival gearset is fantastic. This gearset uses the "Double Tap." Press in a little to go up in gears, press harder to go down." I think if I had a road bike before that used the brake levers to change gear, it would be a little tricky to get used to, but coming from the older style thumb clickers for changing gears, it was a really easy transition.

It is clear that this bike is based on a racing bike. Small, light, and compact are the names in this game. Fully loaded this bike was 17 pounds lighter than my mountain bike. I know I will be able to go further for longer, and have more fun doing it.

Great bike. You will not be disappointed with this one.
