Comments about Marmot Capstone 6P Tent:
Friend of mine and I went to Audra State Park in the beautiful state of West Virginia. The weather was perfect so I cannot comment yet on its ability to handle bad conditions. I must say I highly recommend the footprint. It can only add years to the life of the tent so thats a small investment. We got to the campsite after dark. It was no big deal this tent is so easy to set up. We also did not have to use the ralnfly so that was a plus. There was enough room for a queen size air mattress and my REI Comfort Cot which I highly recommend also. I will say this you will need a large size campsite if you need to use the rainfly with the guy lines out. I replaced the guy lines that came with my Capstone with NIte Ize figure 9. Also the stakes that came with the tent seem a little tender. Always bring plenty of stakes and steaks is my motto. Haha. With the rainfly off there was of course plenty of ventilation. It was great to see the stars above and the fire going beside you. The use of the storage compartments worked great. I also run 2 Eno LCD lights. up the loops going up the inside. Works perfect late at night. My first experience using a car camping tent was a success I hope for perfect weather every time. I hope to never have to test the rainfly's capabilities. I hope to only read from your reviews how this tent holds up in the worst of weather. Haha. just jinxed myself. Bottom line, so far this tent is great.

Comments about Marmot Capstone 6P Tent:
Bought this to fill the need for a family tent. Was looking for a tent large enough to hold my family (2 adults and 2 kids) with a room divider. Tent has enough size for all of us and gear. Would be plenty big for 6 adults and their gear if not heavy packers. As for the height, I am 6' and can easily stand in the main area.
There was one clip missing on the rainfly. I called Marmot and within 3 days, had the parts and a handful of their stickers. Kuddos to Marmot's customer service.
First trip with the tent was great. Easy to set up, took 2 people about 15 minutes while also wrangling 2 small kids. No weather, so no report on staying dry or holding up in wind. It was a muggy night and there was plenty of ventilation with the mesh on the roof and walls.

Comments about Marmot Capstone 6P Tent:
Rained during setup/all night and continued off and on the next day and heavy rain and wind each night... Us and our gear stayed comfortably dry. Plenty of space for a family. Easy to setup.
Wish the bag would have had a strap to carry it like a camping chair.. Overall a great tent and I am pleased I chose this one. We will see how it last over the long hall..

Comments about Marmot Capstone 6P Tent:
I am very impressed with this tent. First, it was very easy to set up. I was able to get it up by myself in under 30 minutes even with a broken foot! Important make sure you stake the tent FIRST. The poles are very thick and sturdy. The sleeves were easy to thread the poles through; they didn't get stuck once. The clips were simple. I had previously purchased the Sierra Designs Wu Hu 6+2 and the poles and clips were poorly designed. The Marmot just rocks.
The interior is spacious and there is plenty of ventilation. A queen sized mattress will fit in the back part and another will fit in the front with room to spare.
The only cons or warnings I would give are: 1. the back part is much lower than the fron part of the tent. I can stand up easily in the front but have to duck in the back (I am 5'11"). I think it is higher in the back then the Big Agnes Flying diamond 8; 2. this does not have a bathtub floor but the floor is a high quality and is well taped. The fly has great coverage so this may be a moot point. I have a Marmot Limelight for backpacking and haven't had problems with leaking so I am not worried with this tent.
I can't wait to get it out camping and give it a good test. I will update when I do.

Comments about Marmot Capstone 6P Tent:
I just purchased the Capstone 6. I have not been camping with it yet. I have set it up and let me tell you it was very easy!! My friend and I had it set up completely in about 20minutes. Its very VERY roomy inside. It seems well constructed. I hope to never find out how well the rainfly works, but as we all know thats wishful thinking. I will post more reviews when I actually get this out and use it. [*]

Comments about Marmot Capstone 6P Tent:
I just picked up my Marmot Capstone 6. yesterday. I have not yet been camping in it. I did set it up today. It was almost idiot proof! My friend and I had it set up in about 20 minutes. Its just that simple. The tent is very well ventilated! I sure hope I do not need the rain fly the first time I go camping. If I do need it and im sure I will. It was also very easy to get on. I think even one person with a little patience and ingenuity should have no problem. It also seems very well constructed and thought out. My last tent was a Big Agnes Emerald mountain 3 a backpacking tent. I think I could fit three of them in the Capstone. Well my first impression is a good one I will update when I get this out in the woods. I also took one star away because the tent is made in China.
