Rated5out of5byfromBest I've ever had - and fashionable! These are my favorite hiking/climbing pants. I use them for long day hikes on mountain/summit trails in the Rocky Mountains. They look great too, so I'll wear them as casual wear. I love the stretchability. When converted, I find the shorts/knickers to be a little too short. And, they have limited wind proofing, so I cool down quickly when I take breaks in colder, wind exposed areas. The pockets are reasonably deep, but not too roomy.

Rated4out of5byfromGreat fit and multi-purpose usage. So I was headed to a few destinations with my work (New York, Chicago & London) and needed to buy a pair of durable & flexible pants to carry around through different climates. I also needed something that I could change from pants to shorts without much hassle. I did some research and heard good things about Prana. In the end, I was extremely happy with my purchase. While in London, it rained and was overcast (typical weather there) and the next day it was sunny. These pants were perfect for taking the tourist attractions in (London Eye, Thames cruise, Parliament, Tubes, etc). I was also in Chicago where it was windy (typical weather there) and although these pants weren't insulated and super warm, they did deflect the wind well enough to keep me from being chilly. I did have on long socks and warm undergarment and the flexibility of the pants were still good. In New York, walking through the grimy muggy town, it was easy for me to slip from pants to shorts and not have any issues. My legs stayed dry because of the good breathability. Overall, I really enjoy these pants and am very open to trying other Prana gear in the near future. This was my first pair of pants from them.

Rated5out of5byfromExcellent Balance of function and formThese pants toe the line between functionality and casual style quite well. It is not visually obvious that they are convertible and designed for durability, they most certainly are. They also breathe quite well.

Rated4out of5byfromGood all-in-one cragging pantsAll around, good pants for the crags. They stretch and block wind well. The lower legs roll up nicely for cuffing and unzips around the knees. I have 30" waist and the size small is roomy but comfy for climbing. Climbed outside all spring, and so far they've held up well on tuscarora and nuttall sandstone. Just bought a second pair in case the previous negative reviews lead to discontinuation.

Rated4out of5byfromDecent Pants for the PriceIt seems like Prana doesn't have a quality check when they are shipped out from China. Each pant fits differently. I have two of the standard Zion pants and the convertible ones, and each of them fit differently. The convertible version of these pants ran HUGE!!! Luckily, REI took care of that and sent me ones that were true to size. These pants look cheaply made. For the money it's not worth it. If you just want the Prana brand, then go for it.

Rated5out of5byfromGreat PantsThese are great convertible pants. I love the stretchy material and the adjustable waist. I wear them backpacking and I can tighten the waist as I lose weight on the trip. They are a little warm as a result of the thicker material, but they are breathable and stretchy. They are a little susceptible to snags, but are very durable otherwise. Best convertible pants I have owned. I mostly wear them as shorts, but I like being able to zip on the legs at night when it gets cold.

Rated2out of5byfromOverhyped brand, sub-par qualityA good thing about these pants is that they definitely stretch very well. I don't see much else that makes these worth the price and would render them better than other, cheaper pants with similar features. The nylon fabric feels sturdy, but it is too warm and does not breathe well. I tried these out at the climbing gym, and as soon as I hit a hard climb, my legs were overheating. Afterwards I've been wearing them all day sitting at my desk, and they feel icky at the legs and the crotch, just uncomfortable performance wear. The manufacturing quality looks questionable. These are zip-off pants, and the zipper backing on the legs is too long (looks like an XXL-size zipper backing on M-size pants), and it's hanging off the end of the zipper on the inside, scratching my leg. Pretty uncomfortable. And two loose threads sticking out of a seam that look like they will come undone sooner rather than later. A minor issue is that the sizes tend to run large - I ordered size M (32/33), but it's larger than 33 at the waist. The little drawstring helps tighten it down, but it's an ugly long strap hanging down the side of the pants now. I bought this item because I heard of friends liking their Prana climbing pants. On Prana's web site, these are listed as their top climbing model. As for me, I am returning them.
