      I used this on a 3 week trip to Europe with my students. Additionally, I took a lightweight large tote (since the sling is too small) and a foldable daypack. The tote held almost as much as the bag and between the two I managed easily in the trains and crowded cities. I have traveled all my life and learned to pack lightly. The sling works for weekend trips as a purse plus extra room for a water bottle, rain poncho etc.

        REI has this listed in the "Wheeled Backpack" category. The only part that might considered a backpack is the sling pack, which is VERY small (barely fits a netbook and wallet). The main portion of the luggage (the portion with wheels and a telescopic handle) does NOT have backpack straps (UNLIKE THE Stratocruiser 22" model, which does). If I wanted wheeled luggage that looked like a backpack, I would rate this 4 stars, unfortunately I wanted a small piece of wheeled luggage that could be used as a backpack...and this isn't it!
