Comments about The North Face Bracket Bike Jacket - Men's:

I am somewhat of a jacket junkie, owning not only the NorthFace Bracket jacket, but the Showers Pass Elite 2.0 and Novara Stratos as well, and while I think the Showers Pass is the best wet weather cycling jacket out there (in part due to the combination of eVent and generous venting--its breathability), the Bracket offers some great features as well. Leading the way is the large hood thats designed to fit over a helmet and still allow head movement as well as excellent vision to the sides. This is one of the main selling points and it works as advertised even when Ive got my full Giro with chin guard and visor on. Very nice. Its extremely comfortable and not too noisy and packs well also. Id like to see more reflective elements for safety, but as its intended for mountain biking maybe others would disagree. A very slight amount of water can work past the zippers in a heavy downpour (another area the Elite and Stratos are superior in). Im sad to see that orange is no longer available as it offers better visibilty to others, but the blue for 2012 is quite pleasing. Zipper ends are improved on the 2012 which was wise as my gave out early in the wetness. Plenty of zippered compartments, but Id like one on the sleeve. Very good but not stellar breathabilty like the eVent Showers Pass which I own in a slimmer cut. Durabilty is excellent so far!
