Large diameter BB30 bottom bracket design increases stiffness for improved power-transfer
Compact FSA Gossamer Pro crankset enables a wide gear range for easy spinning up hills and speedy cruising on plateaus
Shimano 105 shifters and derailleurs offer smooth shifting throughout all 20 speeds
Shimano wheelset delivers a good balance between sturdiness, quick acceleration and fast-rolling performance
Tektro dual pivot brakes offer precise feel at the lever, leading to excellent control under braking
Schwalbe Lugano tires offer low rolling resistance, a versatile tread for good grip and puncture protection
Carbon seatpost is designed with the same technology as the frame and fork, further reducing vibrations felt by the rider

After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly. I've been checking out carbon women's specific bikes from the 3 major companies, and was surprised and impressed with how much more smooth the ride was on the cannondale. WOW is all I gotta say. Even smoother than my steel steed! I love the Shimano 105's, but wish they also used the 105 brakes instead of the Tektro. At this point that's just a personal preference. I'll up my rating to a 5 if the brakes grow on me. So far super happy with this ride. If you're looking at carbon, give a cannondale a spin for sure!
