With a fun, agile frame and trusty Shimano parts, the Cannondale Trail SL 29er 3 hardtail mountain bike is a great way to explore trails and treat yourself to the fun that is riding a 29er.

6061 aluminum Trail SL 29er frame features a relaxed geometry for a stable, predictable ride; oversize headtube improves strength, stiffness and enhances handling performance
Oversize 1.5 in. headtube enhances strength, rigidity and steering precision
Rear stays are shaped to enhance comfort by damping vibration and lessening the impacts of bumps
RST Deuce Coil 29 suspension smooths out the trail with 80mm of travel and features both lockout and rebound adjustment for customizing the ride
Reliable and precise, the Shimano drivetrain features snappy Alivio trigger shifters and Deore Shadow rear derailleur to make quick work of shifting through the 27 gears
Shimano hydraulic disc brakes ensure easy finessing of your speed and outright stopping power when it is needed
Fast and versatile, the Kenda Small Block 8 tires provide good traction on packed trails
Platform pedals accept most types of shoes

After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. So far I love this bike. The staff at REI Rocked! I do not care that much about the color. It would have been nice to see the bike in green. They only had red. The tires will work fine if dry but they are going to need to be changed to ride in the NW after September.

I've owned this one for about 10 days I think lol so I can't speak to durability tho I've ridden it every day sept yesterday but I do the love the handling and the shifting is solid. So far I also like the frame design.
The main reason I picked the cannondale in this price range over scotts extra is the adjustable lock out which I couldn't find on any other comparable bike in this price range.
I might add more once I have more time on her I just wanted to put up my endorsement for this awesome ride and say that so far I've found no negatives of not. ..... Unless u don't like red or ....cough green.
Oh and if you have any doubts about 29'ers I strongly suggest going and trying one out I was sold b4 I made it to the parking lot for my test lol.
Tho obviously 26'ers will always have the edge in nimbleness I don't find my self missing anything. Well sept maybe that choked up on the handle bars aggressive feel....yaaa I get over that with a few memory's of going over.

I upgraded from the Cannondale CX 3 Hybrid and absolutely love this bike. Not only is it more secure on downhills but the tires make for a pretty smooth ride on streets. I routinely bike routes that are about half street and half dirt trail. This bike is secure on the dirt trails and the tires allow for a fast and smooth ride on the streets. The upgraded components are also quite noticeable. The gears easily shift and the disc brakes give you confidence to stop quickly when idiot drivers pull out in front of you on down hills pushes. What a joy to ride...
