Cannondale Quick 4 Bike - 2012

True to its name, the Cannondale Quick 4 bike quickly gets you about town, thanks to an agile, comfortable design and plenty of gears to tackle all sorts of terrain at whatever speed you prefer.

  • 6061 aluminum frame features a carbon fork for a versatile, comfortable ride on everything from jaunts to the store to century-length charity rides
  • Frame also uses Cannondale Synapse Active Vibration Elimination (S.A.V.E.) technology to effectively damp road vibration
  • Shimano triple cranks are matched with Shimano derailleurs and shifters for dependable shifts through the 24 gear combinations
  • Linear-pull brakes deliver effective deceleration so you can manage your speed efficiently
  • Kenda Kwick Trax tires feature a versatile tread pattern to handle city riding
  • Flat handlebar places the rider in a comfortable, upright riding position; ergonomically shaped rubber grips offer plush padding underhand
  • Eyelets accept fenders or a rack (sold separately)
  • Specs on the Cannondale Quick 4 bike are subject to change

After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly. Contact your nearest REI bike shop for details and an appointment for this important service.

Comments about Cannondale Quick 4 Bike - 2012:

After a 18 year hiatus I gave away my road bike and bought this one hoping to lose weight and get back into shape. The bike is comfortable on long rides. The wheels are very cool. The spoke arrangement makes the bike look very racy and the black color of the wheels makes them look cool and it is easier to maintain looking clean. The seat is basic but neither my front or rear get numb, good news. The side reflectors mounted on the wheels are huge and seem to put the wheels out of balance. I removed them but left the front and rear reflectors which are ok. The ergonomic handle bar grips are very difficult to adjust to the right angle. I'm still not sure that I have adjusted them right and still carry an allen wrench to adjust them on the go. The bike is amazingly quiet compared with my old road bike which had Shimano Ultegra components. The manual is useless and generic to just about any bike. A one page leaflet on specific adjustments to the bike, like the grips, would have been welcome.

Comments about Cannondale Quick 4 Bike - 2012:

I've owned many bikes and this one has now become my favorite of all time. The bike fits me perfectly with stock size medium (I'm 5'7"). The handlebars are perfect configuration for adding a basket. Stock seat is comfortable. The tire tubes are extremely easy to change. I've been bike commuting a lot more since getting this bike. My road bike has been sitting idle.

I did not want the full-on intense road bike. I like to ride recreationally but also I like to ride medium distances on the road. This bike is very light and responsive and works great on road rides.

Bought Quick 4 bikes for myself and my wife. We only got them about 3 weeks ago but very impressed with their handling and functionality. We intend to use them for short/medium casual and fitness rides as well as light touring.

This is the first bike I've ever bought and I think it was a great purchase. I was looking for a dependable bike that would get me to/from work on a daily basis and this ticked all the boxes. First of all, customer service at REI was great and they helped me sort through the different types of bikes out there. After a test ride, I made the decision and it's been a great bike that's encouraged me to ride at every opportunity. It's fast/light/comfortable and I think it's good value for the money that I spent on it. REI service is impeccable with a free tune up and 30 minutes of service(I had a TOPEAK child carrier installed)

For a bike to jump on and go for a couple of hours cruise it has a nice riding position and moves very quickly without a lot of effort. Get off the seat for any kind of serious seam or rut and forget about off-road, but on decent surfaces this bike is sweet.

Comments about Cannondale Quick 4 Bike - 2012:

I am impressed with this bike. After looking at this bike and the comparable offerings from competitors, I opted for this bike.

The only comment that I will note is that the bike is sized small for men. I am 5'9" and went with a large. I commend REI staff for being knowedgeable in most every way. However, I was very disappointed that the salesperson attempted to "squeeze" me into a Medium bike that was way too small. I went home with the Medium and returned it within a few days after being very sore in my shoulders, back, and neck. It was too small! The large is a good fit for me, thankfully.

Otherwise, this bike is really ... QUICK. It flies. It does what I need it to do, and, for the $, it is a very good purchase. Oh, the carbon forks are usually a very expensive option reserved for bikes above the $1,000 threshhold.

Just be sure to try out the larger size than what you think you would normally ride. That is to say, if you think you should fit a Medium, try the Large, etc., etc.
