Comments about Cannondale Quick 4 Bike - 2012:
I bought this to get around the Bay Area when I'm out on extended visits - I keep it at my Dad's house. I use it to get to/from BART, take it on the train, get to/from friends' houses, and for the occasional shopping trip. I've been riding a recumbent at home in MN for years, but wanted something lighter and more maneuverable for the urban riding I'll be doing around the Bay Area.
The bike has a nice upright stance, and after several 2 - 5 mile rides I've not had an inkling of discomfort in my hands, wrists, shoulders or neck. The seat seems fine. Shifting is immediate and not noisy, braking is competent. I love the 700C wheels for rolling momentum and diminishing the various road faults. I can accelerate very nicely with car traffic from stoplights, and it's light and responsive enough to jump up onto curbs.
Even with a rack, trunk bag, lights and a big ol' U-lock, it's still easy to carry this up and down the BART station stairs.
I did replace the pedals with some with toe-clips - the composite Cannondale pedals were very slippery in the rain and my shoes and boots continually slipped off of them.
If you're not specs-obsessive, save the $220 you'd spend to upgrade to the Quick 3 and spend it on accessories. The bikes share a large amount of key items (frame, wheels, etc.) and only differ substantially in the brakes and derailleurs/shifters. I couldn't even notice a difference during the short test rides around the REI parking lot.

Comments about Cannondale Quick 4 Bike - 2012:
I am impressed with this bike. After looking at this bike and the comparable offerings from competitors, I opted for this bike.
The only comment that I will note is that the bike is sized small for men. I am 5'9" and went with a large. I commend REI staff for being knowedgeable in most every way. However, I was very disappointed that the salesperson attempted to "squeeze" me into a Medium bike that was way too small. I went home with the Medium and returned it within a few days after being very sore in my shoulders, back, and neck. It was too small! The large is a good fit for me, thankfully.
Otherwise, this bike is really ... QUICK. It flies. It does what I need it to do, and, for the $, it is a very good purchase. Oh, the carbon forks are usually a very expensive option reserved for bikes above the $1,000 threshhold.
Just be sure to try out the larger size than what you think you would normally ride. That is to say, if you think you should fit a Medium, try the Large, etc., etc.

Comments about Cannondale Quick 4 Bike - 2012:
For a bike to jump on and go for a couple of hours cruise it has a nice riding position and moves very quickly without a lot of effort. Get off the seat for any kind of serious seam or rut and forget about off-road, but on decent surfaces this bike is sweet.
