Excellent shirt with useful features

Bought to take on trip to Italy this spring. Weather predicted to be cool and possibly rainy. Shirt was easy to pack, few wrinkles after a day and a half in the suitcase, they disappeared after an hour of wearing. Light to wear and very comfortable. Roll up sleeves a definite plus as weather was quite warm by mid-day. Washed in hotel room sink and dried overnight where other items did not dry completely. No wrinkles afterwards.

fabric wear a problem

I would love to give this shirt a 5-star review, as the shirt is comfortable, fits well, and has nice design details. Unfortunately the fabric has snagged and pilled so badly, especially on the lower front, that it's become unattractive. I've had the shirt less than a year. I've had similar shirts from other manufacturers whose fabric has held up for years without showing wear like this.

Excellent shirt for Kayak EcoTour Gides

We use these shirts for our Kayak EcoTour business. We have our company logo embroidered above the pocket, and it looks very professional. I like the fit of these better than the Tamiami II shirts, which we used previously. These are a slimmer fit, and do not look baggy like the Tamiami II. The sleeves are actually long enough for my orangutan arms, so I don't have to order one size bigger to get long enough sleeves. The pockets lay flatter than the Tamiami II, so I can put my cell phone in the front pocket without it hanging forward and looking stupid. The material washes very well, even when we go in Pluff Mud.

Going to buy another.

This shirt is perfect for fall or spring midwestern weather and works well for both warm and cool temperatures. Although long-sleeved, it's very lightweight and breathable. The sleeves roll up nicely and can be held in place with a button tab. I'm slender and 6' tall and sometimes have difficulty finding a shirt with with sleeves long enough that isn't too big/wide in the body, but this one is good for me. I bought two (different colors) and notice that the fabrics are different. One has a flat finish adn is very lightweight (which I prefer) and the other has a very subtly textured finish and is a little heavier material. I wish there was more consistency. They seem well-made and have been durable, dry quickly and are comfortable. I like them a lot.

Best shirt I have ever owned!!!

I live, work and hike in the humid Midwest and I couldn't have asked for a better hiking and outdoor work shirt. Some days I am working all day in the sun and heat and this shirt breathes and dries quickly so it keeps the sun off me and keeps me cool and dry. I just ordered a second one. Would I recommend this shirt to a fried... YES YES YES... A THOUSAND TIMES YES!

This is a horrible product

The shirt is not like it's previous versions. The fabric is too light and thus not durable at all. After just wearing the shirt just sitting around, the lanyard around my neck cause the shirt to fray and loosen threads. This shirt will not hold up to any activity. I have bought this type of shirt on three different years and it seems to be dropping in quality. This shirt will not last the laundry let alone a deployment overseas. I do not recommend this product and this will be the last Columbia clothing I will purchase because I am very disappointed in an outdoor and adventure company producing a shirt that won't hold up to everyday wear.

100 miles and still awesome

Wore this shirt almost every day (9/10 days) as I hiked the 100-Mile-Wildnerness section of the AT and have started wearing it working as line cook in a professional kitchen and at catering events. Its held up and been great. Shirt is awesome, loved the detail of the straps for securing rolled up sleeves and the armpit venting.

Use less sunscreen!!!!

I absolutely detest sunscreen. Your hands get greasy, dirt sticks to it, and you always miss a spot and get a weird sunburned patch. Not with this shirt! UPF 50 means you can be in the sun all day and not return home looking like a lobster. While it's not quite as cool as my Airgill shirt, it does a good job of wicking away sweat and letting in air. I have spent many days in the hot TX sun with this shirt and it's always kept me cool and safe from skin cancer. Docked it one star due to not being quite as breathable as some of my other Columbia shirts but it's a great shirt to have in the arsenal when the days aren't 100+ degrees.

Perfect for my backpacking hikes!

I don't have anything negative to say about this shirt. It has been perfect to wear on my hikes - vents moisture well and if I get too hot, can roll up my sleeves and trudge onward. I also love the two front pockets for keeping maps or other thin items in. I'd love to buy another, but in a different color. I have 'pond' - and was asked by at least one person I saw after the trail on the way home why I was dressed as Indiana Jones. lol (I had a sun hat on as well.) Oh well - I guess I could be called worse! Great shirt, definitely recommend. I bought a XXL and it was a true XXL. Good fit.
