  • Lightweight, flexible synthetic textile and polyester mesh uppers offer maximum breathability and comfort; memory foam-lined collars mold to each foot for amazing comfort
  • Strategically placed stretch materials are used in the uppers to create a personalized, performance fit that reduces buckling and the chance of skin irritation
  • Wicking polyester linings move excess moisture away from feet and dry fast
  • Footbeds supply additional cushioning, offer antimicrobial performance and manage moisture for a cool, dry and comfortable interior
  • Dual-density Solyte® lasting uses proprietary polymer material that's lighter than standard EVA and enhances cushioning longevity
  • A low-density layer of Solyte polymer is injected under the forefoot for improved cushioning and forefoot comfort

      This is my second pair of this series during the past 10 years. The last pair were the most comfortable and durable jogging shoes I ever purchased. This new pair seem like they are going to be just as great. The sale price was a bonus.

        I have put over 200 miles on these shoes since I bought them. They have not worn out as described in the other reviews. Great, comfortable running shoes. Didn't even get any blisters the first time I used them for a five mile run. I would highly recommend these shoes to avid runners.

        The first few days I wore these shoes around town, they were great. My first run was really comfortable. At around 10 miles of use, the material at the heel started wearing through. After 20-30 miles, There were two giant holes in the heel. I would not buy again.

        Service and delivery comments:

        REI offered to take them back under the satisfaction guarantee, but I couldn't bring myself to making REI eat it for poor design by Asics.

        I have been buying the Gel Kayano for years for my running--this has been my go-to shoe. However the last time I bought the shoe, Asic had changed the fabric used for lining the heal and it wears out quickly with my feet. I won't buy these shoes again unless they change the fabric.
