Mountain Hardware just sent me this jacket after my previous jacket, the Cohesion (no longer made) failed me when the factory taping and the waterproof lining delaminated causing the jacket to leak.

I have to give credit to MH for replacing it for me without much haggle. However, this jacket has a cheap plasic zipper that broke on me after only the SECOND USE! To be specific, the zipper stop on the bottom broke off. The problem is that it is plastic. Look at all of your jackets, almost all of them will have metal zipper stops.

I will glue it back just to save the the cost and hassle of sending a jacket back to MH for the second time, but I will NEVER buy another MH product again.

This is sad too, as I used to work at several outdoor stores and always recommended MH to customers, as their items were well made and durable. I own several older MH products like a down jacket and sleeping bag that have performed well and lasted.

Unfortunately, since Columbia bought the company a few years ago, the quality of MH products has taken a nosedive. I would avoid this jacket and others made by MH.

I have been using this product for about a year. It's been in some very hard downpours and cool, wet northern Minnesota fall days. It's kept me dry and warm each and every time I've worn it. I like the big sleeves that allow me to wear a heavy sweatshirt underneath when the weather cools. The jacket vents well in warmer weather and I don't have condensation issues on the inside. There have been days in a canoe where my other jacket would have failed in the first ten minutes and this kept me dry for hours. It doesn't wet out or leak at the seams. As for hardware issues there have been none. All zippers and other attachments have held fast without incident. I highly recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a quality product at a reasonable price.
