Comments about Mountain Hardwear Stretch Typhoon Rain Jacket - Men's:
I've had this jacket for about 1.5 years now, and I use it for just about all my weather needs. It's lightweight, comfortable, and most important: waterproof. I use it for commuting on my bike and hiking.
The one downside I have is the zipper. Particularly the Velcro. Since it's only patches of Velcro, if you're bent over, or at any angle other than standing, rain can easily get in through the zipper. I plan on gluing strips of Velcro onto the zipper to remedy it.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Stretch Typhoon Rain Jacket - Men's:
I needed a jacket as a standby because my prior technical shell ripped beyond appropriate repair.
I know and trust mountain hardwear with other products but to me this just seems like more of a miss than a hit.
the GOOD, it's light, short break-in period, packable and has a decent amount of stretch
the BAD...
I usually prefer "hand-warmer" pockets (placed at chest height) because i usually have a backpack at hand.
another fault to me is the pockets placement how they are too low and too slim and the inside pocket makes absolutely no sense because it is placed right where the hip is.
the worst of them all, the hood. i love the thought put in to the brim but it is WAY TO BIG AND HEAVY, if the jacket is not zipped up all the way then it is making the jacket drag off and if IT IS zipped up all the way, and the hood is down, it starts to choke, almost feels like a paper plate is inside of a normal hood that is down. when the hood is up, it covers too much area for you to see clearly and don't try to cinch the hood back or it will break (happened to me)

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Stretch Typhoon Rain Jacket - Men's:
I bought this coat mainly to use while riding my scooter. The only trouble is that I have not had the opportunity to ride it in the rain so I can not yet determine if it is extremely waterproof. I can say however that it sheds rain wonderfully, fits great, and looks good too.
I'd say it's the perfect coat for someone looking to stay dry around town or out on the trail. If you're a casual outdoorsman like me and enjoy hiking and camping but you're not afraid of a weekend long rainy camping trip, then this is the coat for you.
