Comments about Brooks PureFlow Road-Running Shoes - Men's:
I'm about a 35-40 mile per week runner. I look to go at about a 6 to 7 min mile pace and was well adapted to a forefoot midfoot strike before trying this shoe. I was attracted by the very reasonable price and what seems like good build quality. So far, I have been on a fast tempo run and a longer slightly slower 10 mile run today with no pain or transition required at all.
Impressions: - quite cushioned (not a firm shoe at all) and these really don't seem "minimal" to me all,
- New heel and sole design really do guide you to strike with the middle of your foot rather well and these might be considered good "transition" shoes for learning to midfoot strike instead of heel strike
-Color is an even brighter neon sort of lime green than the picture shows. Oddly the reflective part is the logo on the sides, no reflective material on front or back of shoe.
-The featured toe split seemed unnoticeable to me.
-I like The elastic band around the arch of the shoe; worked at given me a more secure fit.
-Perfect roominess in toe box and I have a slightly wider than average foot.
-Inside of shoe feels almost seamless and soft (tongue has a few seems that would irritate a bare foot I think)
-Somewhat Major con I found out today was that the rubber on the sole provides worse than average traction on wet pavement compared to other shoes I have used. Might even be worth considering an alternate shoe if you run on wet pavement frequently.
Check this shoe out if you want to stay away from heel striking and want high quality reasonably priced well cushioned trainers (caution about my finding that they are more slippery than average on wet pavement).

Comments about Brooks PureFlow Road-Running Shoes - Men's:
I bought these to replace my Saucony Kinvara shoes which have served me very well. Overall, these are great shoes and just as good as the Kinvara. The fit was pretty comparable and the cushioning was a bit more responsive. Not necessarily firmer, just a bit less...squishy.
Negatives? Yes, there are 2:
1) The sole has more grooves in it which means more gravel getting stuck in the shoe. Fortunately, they're nowhere near as bad as the Nike Free which tended to sound like running in golf cleats anytime you hit gravel.
2) Slippery. REALLY slippery. I can honestly say I've never come across any running shoe that had so little traction in wet weather. There were times where I wound up running in the grass median because running down steep paved hills was too dicey in these shoes. There were times running uphill where I really felt like I was being robbed of power because my foot would slip towards the end of my stride. Probably not an issue in most parts of the country but definitely something to keep in mind if you're in Seattle! Really hope Brooks can address this on the next run. Everyone I've talked to with these shoes has had a similar experience.

I wear these when doing my in home kettle bell workouts and aerobics, squats, lunges, etc. I also wear these running on roads and dirt trails. These are the lightest shoe I have ever warn and the cushion is great. The lower heel almost feels like a negative heel to me, though it isn't, and I love that feel. The way they lace up and fit my foot like a glove and stay that way when I am moving is impressive to me. They have good traction on pavement and trails. Again, for the weight these are the most comfortable runners I have purchased. I also own the Brooks Cascadias which I wear hiking/backpacking. However, I would recommend this style of sole, midfoot striking, over the cascaddia's higher heel cushion. Brooks seems to have put quite a bit of thought and real human trial and error testing into the design of the soul. Great Shoe.

Comments about Brooks PureFlow Road-Running Shoes - Men's:
I was looking for a shoe that would work while at work (where I walk LOTS), on the bike, and at the gym. I've been trying to build up to barefoot running, and the Pure line is geared towards that, so I tried them.
The Pure Flow is the most "normal" of the three in the line, but they're all excellent so far.
My only complaint (stupid feet), is that I wish more running shoes came in wider widths. I went a size up to make them work.
(p.s. My partner loved that I found a vegan running shoe, and has informed me that I will be buying Brooks shoes from now on.)

Comments about Brooks PureFlow Road-Running Shoes - Men's:
I run 40 miles per week and for roads I've used newtons for the past few years. This shoe proves to be more of mid foot strike set up rather than forefoot from Newton. I would not call this a minimalist shoe just not a heel striker's shoe. The shoe fits me perfectly and I have a slightly wider than average foot and normal arch and I'm a slight under pronator. Overall I'm very happy after a few 5 to 8 mile runs at close 6 to 7 min mile pace( nice shoe for moving faster I think) . The split toe thing is not noticeable to me.. The midfoot elastic arch fabric band thing I think did help make a nice secure fit. Durability is still a question mark but if you're a midfoot striker that doesn't want a very minimal shoe , then this seems to be a very good option right now and is much less expensive than my newtons with no comfort loss at all and very similar weight and quality. If they hold up brooks may have just won a new fan.

I run 3 or 4 times per week, 3-6 miles per run. I wanted to change my gait from heel strike to mid foot so I bought this shoe based on these reviews. It has helped me make the change over and they are really good shoes. I've run in them four times so far, twice on wet pavement. They definitely don't have the traction like my Nike Zoom Structures do. I would not recommend them for trail running. They are about 2.5 ounces lighter than my old shoes and have helped me shave half a minute off my average pace. I like the shoe and would recommend it for mid foot strikers but I will be looking for another shoe for running in the winter.

Comments about Brooks PureFlow Road-Running Shoes - Men's:
I purchased these on a Friday evening and was excited to get running with them. They are very comfortable and padded just right. Next day I went out and did a ten miler and felt great after and the next day. So much lighter and more comfortable than my old Brooks shoes. The price point is about right for a good shoe and a lot less than a knee replacement. The fabric is pretty thin, so I'm not sure about the durability and I've heard they are prone to slippage on wet surfaces, so I'll keep my old shoes around for those days.
