Comments about Brooks PureConnect Road-Running Shoes - Men's:
These are extremely lightweight and comfortable. They are also extremely narrow! I ordered my normal half size up and feel they are too small. I went with a men's shoe hoping they would be wider than the women's. They aren't.
If you are looking for a minimalist shoe that is super lightweight and comfortable....this is the way to go. If you have a wider foot you may look elsewhere.
I wish I could keep them, but it would just cause my foot to roll inward and that is counterproductive. Congrats to those that can make them work.

for context: I'm an experienced runner but not an experienced minimalist. I have only put about 20 miles into my vibram bikilas, but that was enough to make my adrenalines feel clunky and awkward, so I decided to try these out.
these shoes are amazing. the feel against your foot is astonishingly comfortable- they are easily the most comfortable running shoes I've ever worn, and I worked in a high-end running shoe store for four years. they contour to your foot like a sock!
as for the ride, they feel a little weird and unstable walking around, but running they are silky smooth. after two runs in them (3 mi and 11 mi) I am amazed by how easily the shoes allow you to shift your footstrike to the midfoot. they weigh the same as my distance racing flats but with a much more comfortable ride.
I can't say enough about how great the fit is. If you are like me and your big toe is the longest part of your foot, you can probably go a half-size down compared to typical running shoes thanks to the anatomical toe box.
these shoes are not as flexible as the super minimal shoes like the merrell gloves, but they make transitioning from traditional shoes easy as could be.

Comments about Brooks PureConnect Road-Running Shoes - Men's:
I had recently taken a week off of working out/running due to my achilles being so tight/hurting. I decided to hang up all the Adidas running shoes I own and try something new. As soon as I tried these on at REI, I knew I was going to buy them. I've heard that they run a little small and are narrow, I didn't find that to be 100% true. I normally wear a 9.5 or 10 and have a wide foot. I bought these in 10 and have had no problems. I wear socks when wearing them casually and run in them barefoot. I have not experienced any achilles/calf pain since I started wearing these. Extremely comfortable on the country roads I run on. I cannot comment on durability considering I have only owned them for a week. I highly recommend trying on a pair of these to see if they work for you! Much more comfortable than the Merrell Trail Gloves I own.

Incredible fit and feel. I was sceptical about getting into a lightweight shoe, and this has worked great. Even thought it is lightweight, you can feel so much cushion under your foot...not once did I feel rocks/gravel/etc...made me feel fast, even though i am not that fast!!!!

I bought these knowing they were narrow, but was still surprised by just how narrow they were...I ran in them once, and then returned them because I felt like a Geisha Girl with my feet bound.....swapped them out for a pair of Brooks Flows, and life is good, as the Flows are quite a bit wider and still lightweight.

Comments about Brooks PureConnect Road-Running Shoes - Men's:
The PureConnect shoe fit really well, I wanted to try something new after wearing three pair of Brooks Launch Shoe out. It seemed to fit in all the right places and live up to its name Connect. There was minimal padding in the heel and had a more minimalist design that I was looking for. The lacing is traditional with lock style laces. There is a middle band to help hold the arch in place and keep the shoe secure.
In the initial runs the shoe performed really well. It seemed to have more for-mid foot cushioning which was a big plus. On foot landing it seemed to roll smoothly to toe off. I did notice however that the middle of the forefoot had a foam inlay in place of the rubber inlay on the other Pads. After 15mi or so this started to show some signs of wear. On one of my longer training runs the padding in the heal cup area started to fall or break down. This somewhat exposes the upper nylon shell beneath the heal cup that makes up the shoe base. It does provide good venting and structure but in this case caused a large blister on my Achilles Tendon(Ouch).
The other Brooks Pure Shoes(Flow, Cadence) have a different upper which I think would be just fine. But after 26 total miles I had to return them because of the heel cushioning issues. Went back to the Launch, I would like to try the Flow next time around if there available in my size.

Comments about Brooks PureConnect Road-Running Shoes - Men's:
I originally bought the NB Minimus and wore the casually around the house. I never worked out in them, because I was not completely sold on them. The heel in the NB's were not as comfortable and the toe box was too wide. I exchanged the NB's for Brooks PureConnect and worked out in them the next day. Best pair of shoes thus far.

Comments about Brooks PureConnect Road-Running Shoes - Men's:
I'm not sure why companies making "natural" shoes do not make wider sizes. After a while doing mid-foot running, the bones of one's feet naturally spread out and with narrow shoes, there is no way to fit into them. I really wanted to like these shoes. The design is good, the shoes are light, and the mesh fabric very breathable. Very nice. However, I could run only two miles in them before I knew there was no way I could do 24 more in them!

These felt good in the store but returned them after after reading reviews and running in them on a treadmill briefly. Completely agree with those commenting on the "not for wide feet"...My feet aren't even wide and I felt like I was walking on a narrow balance beam. Around the outer edge of the shoe they felt fine and supported but it was not even support on the inside edge. On the inside I felt like I was falling in if I stepped on the ball of my foot or turning and stepping on the inside edge.
The arch is high, and I'm usually ok with that, but it felt like a sharp bump instead of graduated arch support. I didn't really feel this until I ran in them.

Comments about Brooks PureConnect Road-Running Shoes - Men's:
Overall, not a bad shoe, but it just doesn't work for me. It's not as light as some minimalist shoes, but I liked the way it gripped my feet and there is a little more arch than is usual for this style of shoe.
It seems like it would be a good shoe for someone who is just getting into minimalist running. The sole is shaped to encourage a mid/fore foot strike and helps you to roll forward and drive off of each stride.
Unfortunately, I had to stop using them after a hundred miles or so. The Achilles Notch is so built up that it put a lot of pressure on my Achilles tendon, especially on hills. It got to the point where this shoe was too painful to wear. It didn't feel bad in the store, but after a couple of weeks I was in misery.
