The North Face Cipher Hybrid Hoodie is a soft-shell jacket made from WindStopperˊ fabric and enhanced with stretch panels for increased mobility and breathability.

Gore WindStopper® eliminates windchill, yet is breathable and dissipates excess moisture quickly so you stay dry and warm; Durable Water Repellent finish sheds moisture
Hood and underarm/side panels are made from Apex Aerobic soft-shell fabric with 4-way stretch; it increases breathability and mobility, and decreases bulkiness
Adjustable hood features an elastic-bound edge
Smooth reverse-coil center front zipper has an internal windflap; brushed chin guard lining is soft next to skin

My wife and I both bought this style jacket for our hike to the top of Mt. Whitney last year and it worked out great!
It kept us warm at 3am when we started our hike, and we never got overheated during our 11 hour hike to the summit. We both had a t-shirt and long-sleeve underneth.
This jacket also works perfect for the those crisp morning commutes to work.
The sleeves are just a bit longer than normal which is perfect for me (6'0 w/ 6'4 wing span).

I was always weary of spending so much money on a jacket, but now I can totally see why its worth it. In San Francisco everyone rocks NorthFace gear and now I see why. This is one of the best lightweight jackets I've ever owned. I get tons of compliments and it keeps my dry and warm. Keeps water and wind out without being too stuffy. Would definitely recommend to others and has a lifetime warranty!

I'm 5'9 - 5'10 170lbs athletic build. I got this in Medium and it fits well. If anything, big enough to comfortably fit some layers under it. The sleeves go down to about my knuckes which feels perfect to me. I usually wear 34/35 arms in dress shirts.

Good quality. Does what it says "wind stopper." the hood has a fitted feel which i like. I don't mean it's small so rides up or stretches from the shoulders when you put it on. That is not the case. It's just not overly baggy. It's close to your face, doesn't obstruct peripheral vision. The material if very smooth and soft. The pockets are very large and go up quite high into the chest.

Now that it's on discount it's an absolute steal. Quality product. NIce look, function, and feel.

Although be careful no to stretch it too far near the seems. Even though the fabric is stretchy, if it gets caught on something or if when you put it on, your arm gets caught half way down the sleeve you can snap some of the stitching around the neck where the hood connects. This is in no way poor quality or faulty manufacturing, just a heads up for common areas of potential abuse.

Great jacket for pretty much everything. Looks great casually and even for going out with a collared shirt underneath. ONLY cons are pilling where my old Jeep's seatbelt crosses my waist and the waist is a little baggier as I like my clothes more fitted.

This is a great Jacket I take it backpacking, fishing, and even wear it out on the town. It lacks in its insulating properties but it isn't meant to insulate. It is a great wind breaker. I have worn it in SF to the giants game with just a thermal underneath and have been totally warm. It is amazing at how much wind it blocks out. It also rolls down really small if you are taking it out on the trail. I highly recommend it!!

I did quite a bit of research looking for a shell I could layer when I hike Kilimanjaro later in the summer. This one didn't disappoint. I chose it because of its windbreaking capabilities, it is packable, and lightweight. Additionally, I like the fact that it has a hood as it is water resistent should a shower break out while hiking. Very happy with the quality and it can also be worn casually for a nice light jacket if the temps are in the 40s-50s.
