Comments about Patagonia Critical Mass Laptop Messenger Bag - 2011 Closeout:

I commute by bike at least 8 miles per day in the rain, snow and sun. I have used the Critical Mass bag I bought 10 years ago (in traffic-cone orange) every day, and it recently died a natural and greatly mourned death. I got the 2011 model on closeout. Its a neat bag with thoughtful details, but there is just something not right about the fit! First, it lacks the adjustability of the old model. Unfortunately for me, as I am 5'2" it seems to have been made to accommodate Andre the Giant. Second, the pad, which on my old bag actually cushioned my shoulder, now sits across my chest, because the buckle is the contact point for my shoulder. Its like they tried to make a combination of a right and left handed bag, ended up making something uncomfortable for both. I guess I will keep it because I hate the cheesy timbuktu bags and I refuse to spend the money for a Chrome bag. sigh. I miss my old bag!
