The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about CygoLite Hotshot 2W USB Rear Bike Light:
Have actually had a motorist tell me that he loved how "visable" i was. I was happy with this purchase.

Comments about CygoLite Hotshot 2W USB Rear Bike Light:
Customer Support and Documentation are worthless!
OSP is a "Cute but Stupid" option.
Commuting you want one of two things - constant or blink. The ability to manage blink rate, brightness, etc... with two buttons makes for a worthless product.

Comments about CygoLite Hotshot 2W USB Rear Bike Light:
This is a really bright tail light. It is bright enough to use in daylight and to be easily seen from a significant distance. I compared it to the 1 W superflash model. In bright daylight I had the store salespreson hold them both up and from a distance this one was brighter. What I also like about it is it is very lightweight. This helps because I clip it onto my backback and when it gets jostled around there is not so much force as if this were heavy and it stays in place easily and will nto rip up the strap that I clip it to. Even though it is so small the batteries last a very long time on flash mode. I am using it 7 hours a week and I just recharge it at the end of the week. I have never had it stop flashing so I don't know how long the batteries last. The mini-usb charger is very convenient as I can charge from any computer. Disadvantages, lack of side illumination, and no low battery warning (that I know of - I charge regularly) Basically a great unit and definatley worthwhile for those of us that have gone to daytime lights.

Anything that helps increase your visibility to motorists is a good thing, and this taillight definitely does that! Very bright and easy to use. Having programable beam patterns is a bonus as well.

Comments about CygoLite Hotshot 2W USB Rear Bike Light:
Brighter than any light in this price range. The beam is narrow, but will catch anybody's attention, even in daylight. Way brighter than any of the Superflash lights. And a little brighter than the Portland Design Works Radbot 1000.
The built-in reflector isn't nearly as good as the Radbot 1000, so I just use both. I set one on solid/constant, and the other on flash, and I'm the brightest thing out there. The Radbot 1000 is a little cheaper though (I wish REI carried that one and other PDW products!).
My only complaint is that there's not a smaller diameter mounting bracket, like for your seat stay or other small diameter tube. Both the Planet Bike and Portland Design Works tail lights come with this second, smaller bracket. And those tail lights mount on each other's brackets, which is really convenient. Cygolite should do this too.
This is a real nice light, definitely worth considering.

Comments about CygoLite Hotshot 2W USB Rear Bike Light:
I got this light to replace some crummy rear-LED light. This one is VERY bright. I like that it is rechargeable via a USB cable --perfect for work/home. My only gripe is that the buttons are too small and don't have enough positive "click" when using. It took me a while to adjust to turning it off without cycling the flash-mode. The ability to adjust the speed of the pattern is kind of interesting.
I would give a 5/5 if the buttons were better, and had more side-illumination.
