I like this fleece very much, but its mid weight and as I'm very often cold, I would have probably liked a heavyweight one instead. But this is still a great layering fleece to have. Throw a windbreaker over it on a cold day and you're set. At least in cold for Southern California weather. :-)

Good jacket except for awful totally unnecessary scratchy patch at back of neck. I started to cut it out but the stitching was integral to the jacket. So I must wear a scarf or turtleneck?

Nice, good-looking jacket, perfect for cool early fall weather. My only complaint is that strong wind cuts right through the zipper area, but otherwise this jacket is actually very warm for its relative thickness and easy to layer with!

I was looking for a jacket that would fit under a rain jacket for slightly cold and wet weather hiking. I love the fit and the color is very pretty - I am 5'3", 103 lbs., a 34B and the xs fits perfectly. The material is soft and very cozy. The jacket is fitted, but not too tight - the pockets hold a cell phone, but too small for a fat wallet, but keys, lip balm, and small items fit fine. I have recieved a lot of compliments and I'm really getting a lot of wear out of it this winter.

I own this same jacket in black and purple! When I saw it on sale I didn't hesitate to order another! Fit is great, washes well and these last forever! The color Alpaca on the website looks like a pretty 'winter white'. The actual color is somewhere between dishwater and oatmeal and is not very flattering. So sad! Hope REI continues making this great jacket - will send back. Maybe exchange for "ocean" color! Hope it's as pretty as the online version. : )

I bought this jacket for my mother to wear inside her house. She doesn't like to have the heater on but she is cold until the sun is high enough to warm the house. Rather than have her wear her bathrobe until mid-morning, I bought this Polartec jacket to take the chill off. She loves how soft and warm it is and the blue color is beautiful. She wears size 12 so I got the large. It fits loose, which is how she likes it, but the sleeves are too long. There are drawstrings on each hip so she can make it tighter if she wants, but she likes the longer length to keep her warm below the waist.

I bought this in purple for a vacation to Scotland to layer under my Madrona jacket on colder days and wear alone as weather permitted. It continued to look nice after repeated wearings without washing, and dried quickly after hand-washing. The water-resistance held up well in damp Scottish weather (although for actual rain I relied on the Madrona) and I often wear it into San Francisco for work. Several of my traveling companions remarked on how they wished they had a similar jacket for the trip.

My only complaint is the sizing - I'm a 10-12 which does not work well with REIs Medium being an 8-10 and large being a 12-14. The medium will be too small for my chest, but the large is a little too roomy so it is prone to bunching up and not looking as nice. The tailored look helps keep it flattering despite the roominess, and at least I can wear a sweater under it without any problem.

Overall it's a great and versatile fleece jacket!
