I bought these shoes for a trip to West Africa, where I would be walking around a dusty city but also holding business meetings. They kept my feet relatively dirt-free while walking through unpaved streets, but were also cute enough to wear at my business meetings. Best of all, I was able to wash them in the shower periodically and they dried quickly enough to wear the next day. Back in the US, I like having a cute shoe that I can also wear during my bike commute, and these also work.
At first they were a bit tight around the ankle and chafed, but after some breaking in they are fine.

Just wanted to comment that the photo is a little misleading, at least on my monitor, where it appears to have a plum overtone. The shoe is neutral gray, and Wonderful.
