by frommake my morning exercise spin quick and easy The novara express bike is quick, light and fun to ride. I share the bike with my son. He like a road bike but I don't like a drop bar. I saw this bike at REI and a perfect compromise. I bike 10 to 15 miles every morning during weekdays. I can now complete 10 to 15 miles at lesser time and less effort with novara express. Planning to increase my mile distance soon.

by fromThis bike fit my needs perfectly I am 50+ and signed up for a 2 day 150 mile ride in June. I own a commuter/comfort bike that I really enjoy, but I needed something I could get more miles out of, but did not want the bent neck of a racer road bike. I had a racer a few yrs back and it killed me on a 60 mile ride. I bought it used so maybe it was not set up right. I bought the express thinking it would be a good compromise between the racer and the commuter. The past weekend I rode it 45 miles Sat and got back on the saddle Sunday and did 48 to make sure I was close to being ready for 2 seventy five mile days. My neck was sore both days, but not killer sore. My butt also felt it both days, but even less painful than the neck. I took my commuter to work on Monday and realized how much less work riding the Express was. I'd like it to have a slightly plusher seat and a slightly more upright position, but then I guess I'd lose some of the gains. I've considered going into designing a comfort road bike cross, but this is as close as I could find to that. So far, so good. I am confident it will get me the 150 miles and I'll do it at about 12.5 mph. I

Found them to be easy to ride ~ light weight, seemingly good quality. Particularly like the index sequential shifting. Overall a quality REI product.

by fromI like it !!! It was between this and the Bad Girl. Loved the "style" of the Bad Girl but this Novara gave me the speed that I craved. Primarily a recreational / casual rider but finding that I am cycling almost daily - ride is smooth yet fast. My only complaint is the seat (my self imposed evaluation / adjustment period is up and the seat has to go).

by fromGreat bike at a great entry level price I purchased the Express as an upgrade from a Giant hybrid. I am riding RAGBRAI for the first time this year and needed a bike that offers a bit more than my around town bike. WOW, the Express delivers and then some. It is fast, smooth, light, responsive, and comfortable. I am 6' 240# and built for comfort so I wanted the flat bar comfort and road bike performance. I could not justify the cost of the high end bikes but I really don't feel that I am missing out on much. Sure, the components on the Express are not top of the line but I was not looking for that. This was a purpose driven purchase. I needed a bike that I could rely on to get me across Iowa this summer and be a great ride for the future. I purchased this at the brand new local store with my 20% member coupon and I feel it is a great bike at a great price. The stock seat is hideously uncomfortable but the Brooks Flyer I added makes this bike perfect for me. With the money I saved I was able to tune, tweak, and upgrade some items. I have changed the pedals and will switch out the stock tires for Gatorskins but that is it. And with the REI service team and guarantee standing behind this bike, I could not be happier with my purchase. Highly recommend!

by fromGood Value I got this bike for road riding (vs trail). It is super comfortable (once I swapped to a gel seat) & very easy to ride. I really like the handlebar design and features. The shifting is smooth and responsive. The carbon forks make it lighter than most. I had to remove the "baskets" and install my SPD pedals. The tires are very soft with little to no tread, so care is needed on gravel-filled surfaces. I also get a lot of rocks sticking to the tires. But all in all, I am really enjoying this bike.
