I have owned Timex Ironman watches for decades. The strap on my 5 year-old watch broke, but I couldn't find a replacement anywhere, so I bought a whole new watch (argh!). Within months of purchasing it, the watch leaked and is now dead. There were also cosmetic damages within weeks (color from writing flaked off).

I purchased this watch because the description says it has a face diameter of 0.8 inches (a smaller face compared to most). I intended to wear it as a casual daily watch that can also handle actitities like hiking, gardening, backpacking, etc. Last year the Timex Ironman that I had had for years gave out. I replaced it with a digital Timex Expedition, which is a good bit larger than my old watch but one of the smaller digital watches with alarm and a few other basic functions that I could find these days. The face of the Expedition is too large for my wrist; it doesn't sit comfortably between my wrist bone and where my arm gets wider and it is bulky so it ends up getting caught on everything. Also, either the metal on the back of the watch or the constant bumping and scraping of the watch on my skin irritates my wrist. I purchased this Ironman because the description of the face diameter made it sound like a smaller watch. However, it is the same size as the Expedition. I measured the width of the watch from side to side and it is over one inch. Even just the portion of the face that is the time/date display is an inch wide. The description does not accurately reflect this watch's size.
