I cycle commute and got tired of showing up everywhere in a screaming yellow bike jacket. Now I wear this with a screaming yellow reflector vest over it, which I remove immediately upon arrival, and I can look like a "civilian".

I just returned from a month in Europe, three weeks of which was spent in the Swiss Alps. We encountered extremely cold weather with snow and wind. This rain jacket, over a fleece top, proved to be an outstanding combination and kept me warm and dry. I wore it every day of the entire trip. The hood is well designed and keeps the rain off of your hair and face, even over a fleece cap.

I used this jacket for less than a full season of wet weather in Seattle. It was a great jacket--good fit, length, etc--until it stopped being waterproof. I even thought that maybe it was only "water resistant" until I took it back to REI and realized it was actually supposed to be waterproof. What's worse is that there were a few other of the same jacket returned in the garage sale section for the same reasons. I also had wished this jacket was slightly warmer. It's definitely a shell, not a full jacket--maybe can stand alone in 50 degree weather at coldest.
I was bummed, a few months ago, I would have given this 5 stars, but the lack of waterproof-ness is a big deal breaker. A raincoat shouldn't soak up water.

This jacket fits great and it will do what I need it to do. (I'm an early 40's professional, mom). It has great pockets in the right places and they zip shut so you won't lose your cell phone, tickets, gloves. It is lightweight. I don't love the off-black color and wish REI made some brights. I also don't think the jacket is super-stylish. It makes no statement, but it is a good jacket. I want to love this jacket, but I don't. That said, I'm keeping it. I haven't found anything better.

I bought this for travel to England/Ireland, but have used it frequently at home as well. It is casual enough for day-to-day use, and stylish enough to wear to work or in the evenings. I debated between buying a small or medium; I went with the medium to be able to wear sweaters or fleeces comfortably underneath. I have not regretted this decision. It's just the right size/fit, even without the sweaters, as the belt will make it form fitting regardless. My only critique is that the belt is too long for the size of the coat, but that is very minor. Love that it is very functional and stylish.

I'm 5'9" tall and weigh 123 lbs. Most size 6's are fine in a coat and I wear a 4 in pants. I ordered a medium and then read the reviews that stated this jacket ran a little big so I was worried that I should have ordered a small. The medium is cut small in the shoulders and tight across the back and I am not a big girl. Either it is mis-sized or I Need to order a large. I will exchange this and see how the large fits.

This is a great raincoat for rainy, misty NW weather. I like the longer length and that it is a little "dressier" and warmer than my Marmot shell. The only problem I have had is with the fit. I originally ordered an extra small but ended up exchanging it for a medium. I am 5'2", 125 lbs. and usually wear a small or extra small in REI products so the fit surprised me a bit. Also, the belt is a little high waisted for me, but works fine if I don't cinch it too tight. Overall, I love this coat and it was just what I was looking for.

I love this raincoat! I saw it on my friend and wanted this coat! It's my work coat when it's rainy. The hood works really well with the adustable cords. I'm only 5'2" and it's a perfect length for me. I love wearing it while walking around in wet weather in the Bay Area. The small is roomy enough for two layers. I tried the x-small but it was too tight in the chest and obviously wouldn't fit two layers. It's a day and night raincoat!
