This jacket is so lightweight I carry it with me all the time in my day pack. It has held up to heavy prolonged rainfall and is super as a wind-breaker on cool morning hikes. Used in damp Mid-west conditions, altitude hikes, and dry cool high desert. Wonderful fit and look, too!

Service and delivery comments:

I had purchased a lower priced "waterproof" jacket from REI, and the first time I wore it in a heavy downpour my shirt got soaked. Thanks to the REI guarantee, I took it back to exchange for something better. The salesperson recommended this jacket and assured me it was worth the price. He was absolutely right!

I had really hoped for a waterproof/breatheable jacket but if the temperature is a little warm, I feel very clammy in this jacket, despite the promised breathability; perhaps with pit zips or vents it would be a little better. Perfect in cooler temperatures, but I'd like to be able to wear it on rainy days even as the temperatures rise. Disappointed in paying more for a jacket that still doesn't give me everything it says.

Used it in heavy rains a few times. Don't ask what I do outdoors in that sort of rains :) but this jacket manages to keep me dry!

The only thing is this jacket will not keep you warm as it doesn't have insulation layer. So try to buy it in a larger size and wear your layers underneath it.
