Comments about Tifosi Ventoux Photochromic Sunglasses - 2011 Overstock:
The lenses are VERY orange, I was expecting more of a bronze tone, and I found myself staring at a Martian landscape instead. That was a bit of a let down. My wife's reaction (laughing and making jokes through the ride) was the final nail in the coffin so these puppies are being sent back to the mother ship.
Recommended for singles, Mars explorers.

The shape is weird-looking, not flattering at all. Glasses don't feel all that lightweight, and the orange color is just odd. Returning this item.

This product is not at all polarized. First time out on the water, I had to return to to car to exchange for polarized sunglasses. The photochromic lenses do function and these glasses are good for casual use, but I would not purchase them for sporting activities.

Comments about Tifosi Ventoux Photochromic Sunglasses - 2011 Overstock:
I'm REALLY enjoying these sunglasses. I purchased these as a replacement for a pair of Native glasses with interchangeable lenses that I misplaced after a ride. With my old glasses I found myself using the orange lenses most of the time and smoke lenses on those super-sunny mountain biking days. I saw the Tifosi Ventoux on clearance in my local REI so I thought I'd give them a try. So far, they've exceeded my expectations.
I expected them to be good in the backcountry. What surprised me how well they adapt to everything, from direct sunlight to night riding (for the record, they still block more light than a clear lens). Also, the adjustable nosepiece is a nice added feature. It makes a huge difference in comfort level. To top it off, I like how they look on me and my wife agrees.
I highly recommend checking out Tifosi's website to find the best lenses for your activity. The orange lenses were designed specifically for backcountry hiking/biking. Tifosi offers other photochromatic lenses that are each suited to a different purpose, many of which are available at REI.
If you hike or ride in the woods, in and out of sunlight or on foggy days, you won't be disappointed with these sunglasses.

I read about these in a Backpacker "Best of" a couple of years ago. I purchased them, and am now purchasing them again because I have never had a pair of glasses fit like these. I have a large gourd, and they are extremely comfortable. The lenses make everything more crisp. My old ones would been good for more years but I lost a lens, and buying these on sale is the same price as replacing the lenses.
