110mm waists are made for powder, but put the Icelantic Shaman skis on edge and enjoy the transition to groomed runs
Multiple layers of fiberglass are layered around a poplar wood core to provide high responsiveness
160mm tip offer best-in-class flotation and stability, and tapered tail centers your weight to create aggressive turns in powder

Comments about Icelantic Skis Shaman Skis - Men's - 2011/2012:

This ski makes skiing powder easy, and it sails thru crud like it was groomed. Well, almost. I am an intermediate skier who usually gets left behind when my expert friends head into the trees. I rented this ski at Brundage one day based on the recommendation of the ski rental staff, who raved about this ski for off-piste, especially for people who are not already expert powder skiers. To my amazement, I was able to ski the powder with as much control as my expert friends, and when we hit crud near the bottom of the slope, I sailed through having fun while they cursed and struggled. Given how wide the ski is, it performed surprisingly well on non-icy groomed runs. I was able to carve almost as sharply as my regular skis, though I had to work hard at it and would have been worn out if I had to ski groomers all day in these skis. So I headed back into the powder. This ski fits its niche, but you certainly would not want to buy this if you spend most of your time on groomers. I bet it would not do well on icy slopes.

Comments about Icelantic Skis Shaman Skis - Men's - 2011/2012:

This is truly an all around amazing ski! With the bad snowfall we had here in Colorado this year I was worried I was not going to get to use my Shamans much this year as I bought them mainly for powder days. After using them in the early part of the season on a few icy and bad snow days they preformed flawlessly! They cut through ice and crud like it is not even there. Later this season I finally got to take them out on a few good powder days in Vail and i could not believe how well they floated through the powder and how much control I had through the trees. The only downside is they are a fairly heavy ski which I enjoy but some may not. If you are looking for a perfect all around ski that will never disappoint you can not go wrong with the Shaman.
