Smoothly cruise over pavement on the Marin Bridgeway bike, a versatile steed that capably handles day-to-day riding around town.

  • 6061 aluminum frame features hydroformed top and down tubes to increase strength without adding weight; shaped seatstays resist flex for improved pedaling efficiency
  • 24-speed drivetrain offers a gear range sufficient to climb steep urban streets and cruise along tranquil paths
  • Shimano EZ-FIRE trigger shifters guide the Shimano derailleurs through quick, snappy shifts
  • Linear-pull brakes supply controlled deceleration and full stopping power when you need it; front brake features a power modulator for even greater control and response
  • Kenda tires boast stout puncture protection to deter deflating flats; wide tire width adds stability at slow speeds
  • Fenders and full-length chainguard helps protect you and your clothes from rain, mud and grease
  • Kickstand keeps the bike upright while you duck into a cafe, enjoy a picnic or go about your day; rear rack lets you easily transport your gear
  • Specs on the Marin Bridgeway bike are subject to change

After its initial break-in period you might notice your bicycle performing less responsively than the day you brought it home. Not to worry, this is typical of all new bicycles and simply reflects that cables have stretched or their housings have seated themselves into final position. To keep running at peak performance, all REI bicycles come with a FREE warranty tune-up, which should be accomplished between the first 100-200 miles of riding or after the first two months if you're accumulating miles less quickly. Contact your nearest REI bike shop for details and an appointment for this important service.

Comments about Marin Bridgeway Bike - 2012:

I have the 2011 model, which is nearly identical. While this bike can handle moderate hills, its few gears makes it unsuitable for rides with many steep hills. I've ridden it as much as 16 miles at a time quite comfortably, but I wouldn't want to ride it much more than 20 or so. It's a perfect bike for commuting, and is lightweight enough to lift onto hooks on the train. It's also very attractive, nearly every time I ride it someone compliments its looks!
