The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Garmin Montana 650 GPS:
Garmin releases their products before they are finished. This product had so many bugs when I first got it that I almost returned it then. But I decided to wait and hope that future firmware updates would fix most of my complaints. Well, I'm still waiting. I do like most things about this unit however which is why I still have it, but I hate it half the time and love it half the time. Since it is supposed to do the job of a trail handheld and an automotive unit, it is a shame that it's navigation is it's worst feature. I have to use my Nuvi to road navigate. I don't trust this Montana to do the job. It has tried to send me hundreds, even thousands of miles in the wrong direction. For the price, this unit is a crime.
Service and delivery comments:
Rei, as usual, is great and their service and shipping were and are topnotch.

Comments about Garmin Montana 650 GPS:
The Garmin Montana 650 is a great device. I just completed several days of work on the Big Iron River , in the UP forests of Michigan with my son we used the device to mark and identify geologic sample locations. The device exceeded my expectations. We worked for days in the river bad sampling and marking the positions with the Montana 650. We used the track functions to find our way through thick ground cover to our vehicles. The device takes time to learn and there are helpful DVD's on the 650. I recommend you buy the DVD before the device so you know the capabilities. I also loaded the North East 1:24,000 scale maps from Garmin on to a 32 GB SD card in the Garmin. The maps add tremendously to the functionality and usability of the device. If you are looking for a great display in daylight or night I highly recommend the Montana 650.

Comments about Garmin Montana 650 GPS:
After my 600 died (see review), went to the 650. Took it on a 400 mile ride on the first day of use. On 2nd day, it won't communicate with another blue tooth 650 to transfer tracks, and could not receive satellite signal. I don't know the area, and already lost. Good I was with someone with a working gps. The following day, Garmin Support and I tried to trouble shoot. No luck, and they asked me to return it for warranty replacement.

Comments about Garmin Montana 650 GPS:
Great GPS. Very large screen. Found the device to be a little on the bulky side for hiking. Wish Garmin could maybe make the device a little thinner to help out with the weight and bulk. I noticed some small glitches with the software but nothing to be alarmed about. I had no difficulty reading it in direct sunlight, as a matter of fact the direct sunlight made it easier to read. Battery life was adequate and varies depending on how much you use the back light and at what level. I really like the large screen and it allowed me to use it like a map while still showing great detail. The touch screen if pretty responsive but it's not as sensitive as your iPhone.

Comments about Garmin Montana 650 GPS:
navigation thru menu is tedious. instruction manual does not cover details that I have had to learn from an Oregon owner. There is always room for improvement.
