Comments about Backcountry Access B-1 Bomber Avalanche Shovel:

I'm usually a Black Diamond fan for climbing and snow products, but when I saw the redesign of the BCA shovel, I purchased it instead of the Black Diamond. The back of the BCA shovel is strengthened with additional welding along the spine joint (where the handle meets the shovel). The Black Dia and others were just stamped out of metal.
I just wish this shovel (and most of the others) would collapse to an area within the space of the shovel.
