by fromSimple yet comfortable I was looking to replace my old Nordica with something stiffer and more comfortable. These were on sale at the store and a sister model with flex index 110 was online. I went to the store and tried few different ones with flex index 90 to compare apples to apples (Technica, Nordica, Atomic, Salomon and Dalbello). I have a standard foot (no special features required), but Nordica and Dalbello didn't fit right. Technica embraced the foot well, but was too stiff in the calf. Atomic and Salomon were closest contenders (they also looked better), but required the use of custom inner sole (which is another $50 on top of the boots' price). Rossies fit ideally and felt lighter than the others. My only concern was that the inner boot looked not very insulated. Hence, may be cold on the chilly days. I took these boots few times on the slopes already and was very happy with them so far. They give enough control without compromising the comfort. I can wear them whole day and my feet stay warm and dry. I also ordered 110 model online and compared them head-to-head. 110 was not much stiffer, but definitely less comfortable.
