I have the shorts version of these pants and really like them so I tried the pants in black, thinking I could dress them up or down as needed. But the major issue for me was the REI logo on the zip pocket on the leg. It really sticks out. That is okay for hiking but not for my intended use of travel pants that can be dressed up for a nice dinner or play. Too bad! Went to Royal Robbins pants instead.

I am so glad they finally offer a petite size for these pants. My last pair of regular length were too long. It was my biggest complaint about these pants. I saw lots of other women agreed. I'm glad REI listened and now offer them in petite. I came back to order more today. Love them!!! Now if they would only offer them in navy blue or more colors.

Ordered these pants for a trip to Belize. The petite was great (I am 5'2.5") and the length is perfect. The pants were great in the caves, they strech well and dry really fast. The one dissapointment is they are not great in really hot weather. In the jungle I was sweating right through them and when you are with a group of people that is not a good look!

The pants fit great. The waistband adjuster gadget is flat and comfortable and very simple to use-very smart design. Time will tell if the polyester holds up as well as nylon, but the fabric is wonderfully light and flexible. The pockets are sleek and in handy, logical spots. I got lots of compliments during a group hike, and I mean, how often do you even notice the style of hiking pants!

I bought these pants for an early spring walking trip in England. They are my favorite pair of travel pants because of the quality fabric and the nice clean lines. A bonus was the drawstring cuffs which allowed me to blouse them to avoid getting really muddy. They looked nice enough to wear out to restaurants.

I went to REI looking to add to my outdoor gear. I had a pair of REI pants and a pair of Prana pants that I have been wearing for 6 and 10 years respectively that I love. The sales person who understood my needs (Megan A. of the Gateway store) suggested the Endeavor pants. She was right on target! I bought the grey and black pants. Megan has assisted me in other purchases in the past. Oftentimes, I look like a walking REI advertisment in head to toe REI gear. The Endeavor pant works well in the outdoors and in the workplace. I would purchase additional pairs such as khaki, olive and or even camo.

I can't say how happy I am that REI makes clothing in petite sizes. I have a difficult time finding outdoor pants, because I am 5'1", 115lbs and curvy. I bought a pair of 2P Endeavor pants in black and they fit like a dream. If I had it in my budget, I would wear buy 7 pairs and wear them every day.

I am a professional field biologist and a professor. These pants were perfect on the plane traveling to my field site and then they were perfect to wear into the field. I could also get away with teaching class in them (except for the glowing REI logo...but more about that later).

The fabric is a very lightweight stretch nylon/polyester/space fabric. The fabric is dark colored, so it can get a little hot when I am sitting still or riding in the car. However, I wore these when I was digging roots in the full sun and I didn't notice them being any hotter than any of my other outdoorsy pants.

So far the construction of the pants is excellent. The crotch is gussetted to allow a full range of motion. The multiple seams and the stretchy fabric spread the stress of movement over multiple surfaces, so I don't feel like I am going to rip my pants when I bend over.

Each leg has two pockets. The zippers of the pockets are recessed so that they are flush with the surface of the pants when closed. I wouldn't say that the pockets are roomy--but these are not cargo pants..and huge, roomy pockets are not functional to me. Every zipper has a fabric holster so that they don't tinkle I walk. All of the seams lay flat for a sleek look.

The waist sits on top of my hips--not too low so that I show crack when I bend over, and not so high that it gives me a wedgie when I am hiking or riding in the car. There is an assymetrical elastic drawstring (the string is only on one side and is attached inside the waist) which will hopefully prevent the drawstring from getting lost in the wash.

There are drawstrings on the legs, but I don't use them because I wear gaiters.

The only drawback is the reflective REI logo on the right thigh pocket, which hits me about two inches above my knee. If not for that logo, I could wear these pants for dressy occasions.

These pants are a marvel of engineering. They are extremely functional and very comfortable. I wore them for the past two days in the field and I am sad that they are finally so dirty that I can't wear them again. They are so great that I will probably buy another pair.
