It is amazing how well this light weight jacket stops the wind, better than other windproof fabrics I have tried. You can wear this over a jersey or layer for cooler weather. The mesh lining is from the shoulders down the sleeves so you don't get a plastic feel on your arms. Some mesh in the lower back, but none in upper back and chest. Gore runs one size smaller than PI, so order accordingly.

I bought this to replace my rei Elements jacket for cold weather/wet weather daily bike commuting. It is amazingly breathable, and totally waterproof. The fit allows a midweight fleece underneath, but it is pretty warm with just a layer underneath--for really cold days or less active wear I have put a down vest over it. Performs as advertised, and the breathability is amazing compared to early goretex and generic 2.5 layer shells.
