The Colorado Trail is the premier scenic long trail in North America. It winds its way through fields of wildflowers to high mountain passes, from wild mountain streams to quiet trails through old-growth forests. The Colorado Trail crosses 8 mountain ranges, 7 National Forests, 6 Wilderness Areas, and 5 river systems.

The 8th edition was written by the Colorado Trail Foundation, an all-volunteer group that built and maintains the Colorado Trail.
