113mm waist offers incredible flotation in deep powder
Powerful wood core with glass and carbon reinforcements produces a lightweight ski with playful responsiveness— perfect for jibbing and landing switch
Patron skis feature an early rise tip and tail that resist diving into deep snow and make it easy to ski backward

This ski had good industry (SKI, POWDER) and user reviews. After skiing them 3 days my feeling is they deserve all of the good press/reviews they have been getitng. Great in the deep snow and surprisingly good on harder snow and crud. A good every day ski for western Washington resorts.

Comments about Nordica Patron Skis - Men's - 2011/2012:

I had to purchase a new pair of "everyday" skis this January from REI on short notice, without a chance to demo. All the text and reviews on the Nordica Patron seemed very positive in terms of a great everyday ski, but I still had doubts sbout how a ski this big would handle on ice/hard snow.
Happy to report (sfter 1 day) the Patron is as good as advertised - hitting Crystal with around 4" -6" new over a hard, icy base, the Patron was very stable and did not seem as clunky as my old, unrockered Gotomas on the skied out ice, hard snow, chop encountered via lift access. On the back country deep snow ( light for Crystal this day) these skiis were a total blast. Good enogh to recomend after just one day.
