Comments about REI Stainless-Steel Vacuum Food Container - 18.5 fl. oz.:
I bought this mainly for hot tea on day hikes and road trips, but find myself using it more for soups and noodles. Its easy to hold and open with gloves, and I have had no leaks. My first container of tea was still to hot to drink after four hours in the shade in the mid 40s. For a hot lunch on day hikes I break-up a ramen noodle pack, add hot water, and have a hot lunch on the trail. It might be too heavy for some on an extended backcountry hike, but for base camping it would be a good all-round insulated option. Cleaning is easy and I can just fit my hand and sponge inside, but the plastic lid does retain a slight odor.
For the durability, stainless steel insulation, and great price, I give it five stars, just barely.

Comments about REI Stainless-Steel Vacuum Food Container - 18.5 fl. oz.:
I take soup to lunch in this. At work. Indoors. (gasp!) I've set it down on its side and liquid has come out over a few hours, like another reviewer said, but on closer inspection it's just water, condensation, not soup. I like mine fine.

Comments about REI Stainless-Steel Vacuum Food Container - 18.5 fl. oz.:
I started using this product for 2 weeks now and I would notice it was leaking. I was going to exchange it for another one but came to find out that lots of water is collecting inside the vacuum seal cap from washing the container. It's nearly impossible to drain the water and in mater of time that it will smell not so nice.
