Comments about Princeton Tec Bot Headlamp - Kids':
I have to say we never even used this headlamp because we could see how poorly designed it was when we went to put the batteries in it. It may work perfectly fine but I would give the screw used to secure the battery compartment MAYBE 2 battery changes before it is stripped and useless. We took it back.

Comments about Princeton Tec Bot Headlamp - Kids':
This headlamp is great for using around the campsite but I wouldn't use it for hiking at night. The beam has 3 functions - low, high, and blinker and the direction of the light is able to adjust vertically. One more thing - make sure you add batteries before you intend to use it. You'll need a screwdriver with small phillips head. [@] sells them or use an eyeglass repair kit to add/change batteries. To the previous reviewer who was frustrated by the batter case, this was not a defect. The battery cover is screwed in for safety reasons. You don't want the little ones to take the batteries out and accidentally swallow it. If you've ever licked a 9-volt battery with the 2 prongs then you know why...

Comments about Princeton Tec Bot Headlamp - Kids':
As the parent of three boys, 5-7-9, I have constantly been at the receiving end of requests for "dad's headlamp". They previously owned a lego headlamp that was good for bedtime reading, but not strong enough for any nighttime outdoor excursions. Admittedly, I didn't buy them a more significant one because they aren't cheap and I have seen how that story usually ends after cash outlay. Before our annual summer migrations to the mountains of PA and the outer banks of NC, they received the bots as a gift and(I)couldn't be happier. They were extremely easy to adjust and no complaints from boys as to feel, so there you go. The button is large and intuitive enough that the 5 year old scrolled through the various modes as soon as he put it on with no instruction. We did some night beach crabbing and the headlamp was bright enough to indentify and catch their quarry (those buggers are fast, and tough to see at night), and equally strong enough so that I could let them go a bit (could easily make out their headlamps form 100yds afar or so), allowing me to leave my overprotective kidgloves back at the beach house. The beach was sea misty at night and I was pleased, that even after a month back in dry territory, the Bots are still corrosion free. As for durability, the Bots had all the droppings, flyings, and flingings 3 boys could muster and all of them are still very alive and kicking (the Bots)--'nuff said. One more stamp of approval that any parent of multiple age kids can appreciate...they were cool enough without being too Kiddie so that the 9 year wore his Bot around the campsite like an adult, making himself feel all useful and stuff, and the 5 year old liked wearing his around taking his cue from the 9 year old...just don't tell the 9 yr old.

Comments about Princeton Tec Bot Headlamp - Kids':
When considering the array of lights to choose from, the Princeton Tec Bot worked best for our daughter. She wanted something to use as a reading light before bed. The Bot provides just enough light for her to read in her room. She also enjoyed the variety of "kid" colors to choose. Every product has its place. This one is best used in the simple adventures of life.
The Bot is small, light and has a tamper proof battery door. Unlike most of the Princeton Tec lights, this one keeps kids from tampering with the batteries with a screw that keeps the battery compartment closed.

Comments about Princeton Tec Bot Headlamp - Kids':
"battery door screws shut" is a bug, not a feature, if you don't happen to have a tiny Phillips head screwdriver to get it open. Can only use this thing if you plan in advance.
