    The REI Member Dividend

    The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

    Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

    Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

    Kryptonite Bicycle ID Kit offers a free, global bike registration service intended to deter bike theft and aid recovery through social networking and QR barcode tags.

    • The partnership program between Kryptonite and Bike Revolution is based on tamper-resistant and weatherproof ID stickers featuring a QR barcode tag
    • First, register the bike at no cost on the Bike Revolution website, providing the bike's serial number, your contact information and other details
    • Second, affix the tamper-proof ID stickers with the QR barcodes to your bike—location is up to you
    • Using a smartphone, the ID tags can be read by any barcode-reading app; the QR barcode directs the phone's browser to your bike's status page on the Bike Revolution site
    • If the bike is stolen, you can update the bike's status on the Bike Revolution site; this also prompts Bike Revolution's site to send out alerts
    • Stolen bike alerts are sent to Bike Revolution’s followers on Facebook and Twitter, local authorities, bike shops and clubs, enhancing awareness and chance of bike recovery
    • Also, if someone sees the QR tags on the bike and scans one with their smartphone, they will be taken to the bike's status page and see that it's been stolen
    • Please note: the Bicycle ID Kit is meant to be used as an additional layer of security and does not replace the security offered by locks and prudent decisions
