Wore these shoes this summer on a week long trail cycling trip. It was almost like having sandles on. They can be worn with or without socks (my kids agree socks look just fine and not too nerdy!) and the socks help keep the foot clean while riding on the trail. The open mesh design keeps the feet cool.
I also wore these without socks on a week long kayak trip. They got wet often and got to smelling pretty bad after a short while, even though I tried to rinse them off thoroughly. I had to leave them outside the tent and rain fly!
I also wear these casually. They are very comfortable and the one annoyance is; you have to tug on and tighten the heel strap more often than seems reasonable.
One last point: Even though the instructions say not to, I throw these in the washer any time I get them wet. Otherwise, they are very stinkey. This does the trick and the shoes do not seem to be affected wear-wise after multiple washings.

Great shoe. I bought these to use while working at a summer camp as a wakeboard instructor. All day long i was in and out of the water. The shore line had very sharp rocks so good footwear is a must. I had Chacos but they always seemed to rub my foot once any grit got between a strap and my skin. These are far better. They dry amazingly fast, super lightweight, and very good wet traction. Sadly, my dog ate one of the shoes. So, i will be buying another pair.

First off, I am your average adventurer and let the season predict my activity's. I love to hike but when it gets to hot I drift over to the ocean for some water play. I was in the market for some water shoes since I kayak a lot and got tired of being bogged down by soggy flip flops or the alternative walking barefoot in a parking lot on a hot day neither was fun. Found these and love them! I can wear them all day long! I cover lots of terrain getting my boat to the water and these offer sure grip with the 50lb boat in my hands so falling would be painful. They do run a ½ size large and are narrow for me as I have a medium foot but I still got a half size smaller if you have a wide food order your correct size.

I bought these shoes last year to do the Bridge to Nowhere trail, a 10 mile hike which has a lot of stream and river crossings. The shoes performed well. They had good traction in the river, and the Quicklace system stayed tight and very secure. From time to time I did have to tighten the heal support, which tended to get loose. Otherwise, they dried very quickly and the mesh kept most of the rocks and debris out of the shoe. I have yet to use this shoe on longer hikes or overnight backpacking trips.

I have had the same pair for 2 1/2 years. I wore them almost everyday in Afghanistan for six months. I did not abuse them, but did not baby them either. I did not wear them off the FOB (I used Merrel hiking boots for that) but wore them everyday around the FOB. When they got dirty I simply washed them out in the shower and let them dry. I wear them to cut thr grass, wash the cars, and even wore them hiking around the mountains in NC.

My only complaint is the strap on the heel comes loose too easily. I found myself having to tighten it every hour or so...more annoying than anything else. If the heel strap stayed tight until you loosened it via the buckle, I would give it five stars.

Regardless, I bought a pair in brown (that I wear to work) and plan on buying another pair in blue now that they are marked down. Fantastic shoe.

My best friend owns this pair of shoe and I wore it fore a day without any qualms. My favorite feature about the shoe is that the backing folds down to wear as a closed toe sandal which is phenomenal if you are in a require a constant change of footwear, at a beach etc. The shoe seemed durable enough to go hiking with. The soles had premium salomon rubber thickness and it was very comfortable to walk with. Overall, I am going to buy this product from a trial usage of less than 8 hours.
