Comments about Burton Ion Snowboard Boots - 2011/2012:

At first glance you might think the small holes above the toe-box are going to make this boot too cold to ride in. On the contrary, the boots have amazing breathability which prevents your sweat from making your toes too cold after a couple of hours of riding. It's a problem I've always had with previous burton and salomon boots.

I haven't worn ions before, but I have worn hails, rulers and driver x's. Even though the driver x is rated as a stiffer boot, the rating system seems to be off. The 2012 ions seem stiffer and the driver x's plastic insert is a gimmic in my opinion .
