Comments about Burton Cartel EST Snowboard Bindings - 2011/2012:

I previously used a set of low-mid range Ride bindings and although they did serve me well for a while I was soon ready for an upgrade and this was a step change in every aspect.

I coupled the Burton Cartel ESTs (medium - size 9.5 Northwave Decade SL boot) with a Burton Joystick 161.

The EST system works really well, the adjustability is endless in terms of stance setup. I haven't had any loose screws yet (however I did use threadlocker on them once I had them set up perfectly).

The Cartels are really comfortable - both the heel and toe straps are well padded (as is the base) and wide enough to spread force evenly across the foot. The toe cap holds the boot perfectly, no more having to loosen the toe strap every time I hit the lifts to get the blood flowing back into my toes.

Adjustability of the bindings is also spot on. I run +/- 15° and there's still room for adjustment in the highbacks to bring them back parallel to the board edge if you ride wider angles.

The ratchets / levers are high quality (aluminium)and strapping in is a piece of cake.

Overall these are a very sturdy, lightweight, comfortable binding suitable for a variety of riding styles.

I likey long time.
