Comments about New Balance MT20 Minimus Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I was an occassional runner who hadn't run in a few years but wanted to get back into it. However, after buying a brand new pair of running shoes and running in them a few times, my ankle began to swell. I ended up researching and reading about the minimalist shoe movement but didn't like any of the "toe shoes." After reading the reviews, I made the jump to the NB MT20.
I have now been using them for about two months and my running has taken off. I no longer have any ankle, foot, or knee issues while running and my times improved drastically, at least by my standards. The shoes are completely comfortable which is a big deal to me since I have an especially wide foot. I ordered the 2E size and they fit perfectly and have more than enough room in the toe box and through out but not too much as they feel good running in them. I also wear them everyday for regular use as well since they are pretty stylish too. I look forward to running my first 10K or half-marathon in them.
My only complaints are the price but I guess you get what you pay for and make sure you ease yourself into them. I didn't because I was so excited when they arrived that I went out and ran a 5K. I felt it for a few weeks but still ran and this is something you have to worry about with any minimalist shoe. I haven't had any issues with durability or workmanship issues. I recommend them hands down.

Comments about New Balance MT20 Minimus Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I bought these shoes after trying in vain to like the way Five Fingers felt on my feet. I still wanted to embrace the minimalist style. These NB have been great! I feel muscles in my legs and around my ankles strengthening that have been neglected too long because of how I run. My stride is improving, and in these shoes I don't run as "heavy" as I always have.
I am primarily a weightlifter who has gotten into the "Warrior Dash" type of trail racing. I am 6' tall and 245 lbs, so running can be tough on me. I feel better than ever after switching to these shoes. I also use them on lifting days, what a nice change to only have one pair of shoes in my bag, and I can feel a difference on squats and deadlifts. Because of my size, I'm tough on running shoes, but these seem to be holding up pretty well. I've detected no splits or seams coming unravelled. The first 60 minute run I did barefoot, I developed one small blister on the inside of the foot at the base of the big toe. Since that run, no blisters at all. Of course, I ignored all recommendations to slowly work these into my runs and workouts, upping the percentage every week, and just started wearing them for all my training immediately so maybe I'm to blame for that blister?
I should note that I'm a neutral runner with no pronation issues.
I'm considering getting another pair just to wear around with jeans on days when sneakers are appropriate.

Comments about New Balance MT20 Minimus Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
Purchased these shoes and logged 12 miles of trail, split between two runs. My trail running consists of lots of rocky terrain and these shoes did not react well to it, leaving my feet very sore from the impact on the rocks. If your trail runs consist of soft trail (sand, dirt, grass) these shoes will be perfect. However, if there are any rocks on your trail, I would highly reccomend avoiding this shoe.

Comments about New Balance MT20 Minimus Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
these are great trail running shoes. I own Merrell Barefoot Trail Gloves, Vibram TrekSport as well as the Montrail Rogue Racers and so I already have a 'high bar' for minimalist shoes. they are slightly more snug fit and have more cushioning as compared to the Trail Gloves & TrekSport. I did however feel that the Trail Gloves give slightly better traction in muddy and wet conditions.
