          Comments about Atlas 1025 Snowshoes:

I've only used these a couple of times, but am already glad I got them. They're great for snowshoeing at a brisk pace on trails that are at least somewhat tracked. The bindings are excellent: easy to use and solidly reliable. I know they're great for uphills but am still getting used to them on steep downhills. I walk very naturally and comfortably on them, which may explain why I kept pulling ahead of my friends! I'm more of a cross country skier than a snowshoer, but I think I will use these a lot next winter exploring local state parks and nature reserves.

            Comments about Atlas 1025 Snowshoes:

On my first time out on these snowshoes for my weight with pack on they worked OK. In the 30years since I last used snowshoes I forgot the limitations of snowshoes due to the different types of snow conditions. Don't think any snowshoe is going to keep you on the very top in soft snow conditions and you are going to sink down some no matter what the snow conditions. I used them on ungroomed off trail conditions which is where they be used. I weight 168lbs with my day pack on and I suppose I am at the upper limit weight wise of this 25 inch snowshoe. A 30 inch snowshoe might give me a little better foation but I will be carring them at times while I shed antler hunt and wanted the smaller size to get across patches of snow encountered in the early spring. I had a problem with keeping one heel binding tight and had to retighten 5 times before getting back but in all fairness this was only my first time out so may have to see if it was me or the binding causing the problem. Not sure if I can edit this post after I have had them longer.

                  Comments about Atlas 1025 Snowshoes:

These snowshoes eject snow upwards when I walk and within five minutes the backs of my hands, arms and body are covered in snow. This makes them essentially unuseable to me.
