The shoe is perfect for me. It did not need any breaking in. I have used it on up hill and down hill hikes. Did not get one blister. The cushioning is terrific. You will not need to buy inserts with this shoe. I bought a half size bigger than my street shoe to allow for swelling on long hikes and find that it is sufficient for me. Good construction, I feel this shoe will last for a long time.

We bought these for my wife and after a couple days of break-in, she says they are lightweight and like "walking on air". Her feet and knees hurt after walking too much in sub-par shoes. She has zero pain after walking around all day in these Oboz boots. They clean up easy too.

I love these boots! I bought them in August before coming to Canada for a few months. They have kept my feet dry, and warm even on days with very poor weather. I have walked through streams and my feet remained entirely dry. I also like the heel and toe protection since I'm a bit clumsy. The only time my feet were ever cold was when it was around freezing outside and I was standing still for a long period of time. I use them walking to class and on light day hikes. I have yet to take them backpacking and I look forward to seeing how they measure up.

Loved these boots but after 3 hours I started to have some pressure point pain from the folds of the tongue on only one foot. tightened the laces, made it worse, slackened the laces, no change, had to return them. Maybe it was just a chance thing. I will maybe try again with them as the replacements were awful.
The laces are hard to release in order to open boot enough to get your foot in but then this is better than the alternative as the laces are too slippery and wont stay tied

I am an older, limited hiker. I found the boots to be perfect for my use. My feet feel energized, not tired after wearing the boots a few hours. I wore them in loose sand and found they had excellent ankle support and my feet were not tired.

I bought these in the store so I could try them out. The sales person recommended I try these along with others I was trying and I am very glad she did. I shopped around and these by far had the best fit. I wasn't familiar with the brand and would not have thought of trying them without her suggestion.

I have used these boots for backpacking, day hikes, hiking a 14er, and bumming around camp. They were comfy from the first wear, no blisters! Good traction and good support. I have wide feet and these fit comfortably. The only complaint is that the balls of my feet get sore/numb, which I have never experienced before.

I have only used these once so far, during the first camping weekend of the year and climbing my first 14er. I loved them! They didn't give me blisters and kept me warm during the mountain spring weather. I probably wouldn't wear them during hot hot weather but will certainly be wearing them for a long while yet. I'm not used to ankle support but once I loosened the laces on the ankle, I was good to go. The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because I haven't had the chance to use them enough so can't assess durability.

These work well for longer day hikes. I've also "run about town" on errands and they are quite comfortable. Big plus for me -- the rounded edges keep me on my feet, they roll my ankles back to center and don't cause me to lose my footing and fall into a sprain.

I am very happy with these boots. They look good and they feel good. I have only been using them for a few hikes so far and they are very comfortable and waterproof as well. They are lighter than any of my previous hiking boots. They feel a little too warm right now because of the summer heat but I know this will be very welcome in the fall and winter. All in all I love the boots and would buy them again.
