    If you are new to dutch oven cooking, do yourself a favor and only get a tripod this size or bigger. Shorter tri-pods are nearly worthless...I actually wish this one was one foot longer. I have used this many times to hang a propane or LED lantern from when done cooking...its almost like having a go-anywhere lamp without having to use a tree branch.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    I'm not of a car camper, but when we do it we eat well. This is a great tripod. Does exactly what it's supposed to and is adjustable for temp. Even on ground that isn't crazy level this little buddy does the trick. Be clear that unless you have a pack animal or a UTV this isn't going into the backcountry with you.
