Just bought this water bottle a week ago and was loving it.... till a co-worker accidentally knocked it off the counter and onto the floor. The bottom completely blew out - in two directions. I was super bummed, as I did like the flip-top/straw feature (the nozzle is easier to clean than Camelback and water doesn't get trapped inside the nozzle like Camelback, which to me equals less chance for germ-y build-up!). I've had the Camelback's for the last several years, and the only feature I didn't love was the fact that you couldn't get inside the nozzle to clean it well... However, I've dropped my Camelback's MANY times, and they've never broken. So now I'm trying to decide on a different bottle, as the Nathan clearly is not durable.

I've had this bottle a couple of months and loved it. I really like the straw, the volume, the grip...everything. Today, if fell about 18 inches from a low table onto our hardwood floor and the bottom of the bottle shattered. Not just cracked, but shattered. I was surprised. It seemed so great and I liked it so much that I was going to order another one. I'll be returning it to REI. I'm not sure if I'll give it another chance by replacing it or look for another kind. The fact that another reviewer had the same problem makes me think another one won't be a good idea. After all, I get refillable water bottles to save on plastic but if I have to keep replacing the plastic bottle, it defeats the purpose. I'm also disappointed that it's plastic #7, #1 or #2 are much better for recycling. I thought I was happy with it, but I'm not.

I was mowing at the cemetary and an electrical storm broke out. I was SO looking forward to a big ice water/ I got in the car and the bottle was cracked on the bottom. I packed this bottle in my suitcase brought back from REI/Seattle. I was so disappointed & THIRSTY.

If you are in the market for a water bottle and want to buy Nathan then purchase the aluminum bottle. I had this for one day and was enjoying it. I filled it up before I left work and as I was walking to my car I dropped it and the bottom busted out of it. I didn't even have it 24 hours. I know it's my fault as I am a clumsy person but it shouldn't break that easily.

I have had this bottle for about 2 months. I have used it as a daily water bottle at the office, during hiking trips, walking around town or for working out at the gym. It does very well at all these activities.

What I like: The bottle is easy to carry with a finger through the carabiner style loop at the top but also not so large around (like a 32 oz nalgene) that it is hard to hold with one hand around the base when full or wet. The carabiner clip seems strong and I have attached this bottle, full, to daisy chains on backpacks or around a backpack strap where it connects to the bottom of a pack. The straw tucks away nicely to keep it clean and away from the elements/germs. I like that you can flip the straw up/down by using the clip as a lever rather than pulling it up with your fingers (which might be dirty). I think this is a big advantage over the Camelbak version. Last, the price is great at less than $10. Why spend 40% more for the Camelbak version? It even comes with an extra straw.

Potential problems: The carabiner clip seems a little cheap and I can see it breaking over the longer run. I have dropped the bottle, full a few times with no breakage issues though. Seems to be as tough as any other bottle out there.

I plan to buy a second bottle in the near future to keep at work.

This is a great bottle, I carry it everywhere.. I used it the first time i got it rock climbing, and my friend attached it to my rope, so i can pull it to the top I didnt know it, pulled the rope without thinking, and the bottle bounced all over the rock face and eventually seperated the bottle from the top.. However went down to the bottom, Picked up the top, re-screwed it on, good as new.. was a good 70-80 foot drop

My one year old and I both use these bottles daily. They are easy to drink from, easy to clean in top dishwasher rack, durable, non-leaking, don't dent, are light and easy to carry, attractive, and fit into car slots well. Best of all, this is easy enough for a one year old to master drinking from. It delivers enough water easily. The camelbak requires that you bite down, and my baby cant master that yet. Plus, camelbak is expensive. Lost mine and buying this again, because I like it best, after researching several options.
