Comments about Primus Polaris XL Lantern:
I bought this lantern two years ago and use it regularly camping in the north Georgia mountains with the kids. Now I am buying it again as a gift. That should say it all.
The frosted plexi allows this lantern to lite the campsite softly without changing the environment. It is easily adjustable and has a durable case. It is too big and heavy for backpacking but that's not what it's made for. The top handle has a hinge to hang it on a line or a loop and we've camped for 10 days at a time without a battery change. It doesn't have the high design of black diamond but it is well designed and a good performer. Not cheap but well worth the money.
