These waterproof and breathable REI Timber Mountain gloves help keep hands toasty warm and protected from wind and water.

Rugged nylon shells and waterproof/breathable inserts are windproof to 60 mph
Polyester insulation adds warmth without bulkiness; fuzzy linings add comfort and wick moisture away from the hands
Grippy, reinforced palms are stretchy and durable; thumbs sport a soft nose wipe panel
Leashes can be removed when not in use
Gauntlets extend coverage; one-handed closures cinch and uncinch with ease

I purchased these for my daughter who is a stickler for durable, hardcore outdoor gear. She's 9, average size....but these ran small. We're exchanging the M (10/12) for a L (14/16). They seem really great....nice construction and the style isn't obnoxious. Hopefully the Larges will work out.

We bought these for my 12 year-old son for Christmas and he LOVES them. They look cool, but most important, they keep his hands dry. I was surprised to see the other reviews that said they were hard to get on or ran small; we didn't have that problem.

Comments about REI Timber Mountain Gloves - Boys':

Bought the XS for my 5 and 6 year old boy and girl as they are about the same size. They fit just a bit snug in the XS and the S was way too big. Although they seemed to work great once they were on, they were very difficult to get on their little fingers. We would struggle for about 5 minutes and they would ask that I pinch each gloved finger to check if their fingers were in there. I would recommend mittens for smaller hands. With the multiple layers, it's a bit hard to manage gloves.
