The REI Member Dividend

I bought this footprint to create a fly pitch only option for my Kelty salida 2 tent. I usually do not use this because it is heavier than my tyvek, that i usually use when carrying the whole tent. I added some clips to the footprint and now can pitch the fly with poles and leave the tent portion at home saving my self 1.5lb+ in tent weight. This is a great option when camping in the tent alone. I would recommend this to someone who wants to lower there weight but still use the tent they already own. I have used this set up a couple times now and have stayed dry in rain. I have not been in a biblical downpour though.
